Eh, it's been a while I made a post about my stuff and I'm pretty sure the one person who is participating in my ARG that's following my blog isn't even paying attention because of the FUCKING BOTS on this site.
Anyways: Reality control, you can change anything that isn't yourself. A toxic family member? You could change the reality of who they are and make everything better right? So what is stopping my character, Dedeye, from doing so and hunting down her family worry free to be with them? The answer is sad and horrifying; she knows it's not the truth and that reality alteration scares her. It's something that haunts her sleep. She can change the reality of what happened but that perspective haunts her.
"So your other character Atrazine is capable of altering perceptions under a similar rule why can't she just fix this?" I hear you, but she would know that's not the reality of what happened. She can change the perspective, but how long until the truth of the past returns with its haunting reality? "Have them cancel each other's dilemma," you might say but, my dear friends and faux, the other would know it's a lie and the truth would resurface eventually. Outside forces may be able to harm the realm, but they will never be able to change the truth of things that have happened.
The past scars us forever, whether we remember it or not is based on the scars. They resurface eventually yes, but they cannot be erased. "I think they just appeared one day," she'll say not remembering the truth because some choose to not remember the darkness of the past. Some do selective amnesia while others are full amnesia then the poor tormented souls who are cursed to never forget.
