8: What is your OC’s fighting style, if any? Are they a rogue, a warrior, a mage?

Warrior.

Due to growing up in the very heart of the Badlands and having an ex-Solo for a father, Vera is proficient with a variety of military-grade firearms and explosives, ranging from light machine guns to grenade launchers. She is an expert in stealth tactics and infiltration, able to use her cybernetics to quietly sneak up on enemies undetected before finishing them off. Vera also has knowledge in psychological warfare, and once displayed the corpses of two Bozos in a public area to serve as a warning to the rest of them: LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!

15: If your OC came upon a demon that took the form of your OC’s biggest fear, what would they see or experience?

Serious, goal-oriented Vera puts so much effort into making her dreams a reality that she’ll often dedicate her entire life to one idea if that’s what it takes.

Vera is a rationalist — she’s aware that life isn’t fair and not everything is going to succeed, even if she does everything right. But if Vera fails, she may have wasted years of effort, and the thought makes her blood run cold. Vera’s demon would take on the form of herself...bowed, bent and broken. A failure.

19: Give a brief description (or a long one!) of your OC’s backstory.

( I’m still working out the details so here’s the short version! )

- Vera’s parents were originally from Night City. Her mother, Violet Briggs, was a Corpo teacher who taught the sons and daughters of Nighty City’s wealthiest families. Vera’s father, Michael Hendrix, was a Solo who fell from grace after a job gone bad and was barely making enough to feed for himself. The two met when Violet hired him to kill her abusive ex-boyfriend who’d been stalking her. What started off as a professional relationship...became something more. 

- Because of the target on Michael’s back and the long list of enemies he’d acquired, he and a heavily pregnant Violet fled Night City to eke out a living in the Badlands. From there, he and Violet began living with a small group of Nomads. Michael would use his skills as an ex-Solo to protect the rag-tag fleet of cars, vans, busses, and RV’s from any danger on the road. Violet took to teaching the younger children how to read and write. Being homeless in 2077 wasn’t easy for the couple...but they were happy together, and that was all that mattered. 

- At age sixteen, Vera would lose her parents in a Raffen Shiv attack and be nearly beaten to death by one of them. She lost an arm. 

- Vera was given a cybernetic arm by one of her father’s old contacts to replace the one she lost. Unable to cope with the loss of her parents, Vera left her tribe to make a name for herself in Night City. Her goal is to make it big and use her connections to provide a comfortable life for her clan and to show the world that Nomads can rise just as high.
