Lydia had decided to stop by and check on Declan. It was a tough situation -- he was her best friend and he was in a bad place. Heck, if it weren’t for her and Mason he would probably be holed up on his own back in Denver. That was the last thing she wanted. How was she supposed to physically check in on him if she was in Aspen? It was why she started packing his bags for him in the first place. Sure, there was the option to stay back at home with him... but as selfish as it could possibly sound, she did need to get out of Denver for a little bit, and she didn’t want to be left behind The alternative? Bring Dec along, that way he can also get a break -- and she could keep an eye on him. She couldn’t help but be worried for him, with how he’d been since Lindsay left. And knowing how he’d been in the past, it was in her best interest (and his) to not let him get to that point again. Now she was stopping by to see how he was, hoping they could perhaps also find something to do in the process. Or just hang out. Among other things.
There was also another little discussion they needed to have. About the fact they kissed. There was part of her who was worried that it may have changed or made things awkward in their relationship. What had she thought? If he was fine then so was she. After all, a kiss was a kiss. It’s not like they had sex. Nothing changed, he was still her best friend. That’s all there was to it. Bringing two mugs of hot cocoa around to his room, Lydia used her elbow to push on the handle and let herself in. "Hi, just my few hourly stop to make sure you’re still alive,” She called out casually as she walked over to him. She really had no tact but she was sure Dec was used to it after knowing her for so long. “One for youuu,” Lydia said cheerily as she passed him the mug, clearing her throat to start saying something else. “Uh, so... we should probably talk.”
