Saturday Night • So we head out to the City for dinner. Reservation made. ✅ Decided to try a new one. Recently on a Mediterranean kick I found one. Got a great parking space ✅ (Saturday night in San Francisco 👍 no easy feat), walked to the restaurant, looked 👀 cute, sashayed past a long line of people patiently waiting and over to the hostess stand. I alert the host that we had arrived, early. He responded that he didn’t have our reservation. I let him know we made it on Open Table. He responded that they didn’t have it. Clearly he is not following. I made one. Okay, can you put me down then. My name is Debbi DiMaggio. He stared at me. We don’t take reservations. I asked how long the wait would be (he wasn’t picking up a pen 🖊) and aren’t you going to put my name down? He said we don’t make reservations and the line is outside. Omg! I finally got it. They DON’T take reservations. So I proceeded to walk back past the long line, back outside, and said to Adam “I’m not standing in that line!” As we walked up Fillmore I flipped open the Open Table app and noticed (this time with my glasses on) that I had booked a reservation for Noosh in Alberta CANADA. I couldn’t cancel as our reservation time had passed, but felt it was only right to alert the restaurant, so I called Canada 🇨🇦. The man was a bit confused. I said I was in San Francisco and wasn’t going to make it. He agreed. Alberta was a bit far. #debbiisms 🤔😯🤷♂️💁♀️🤷🏻♀️ I can’t take all the blame .. the host wasn’t exactly clear .. he said I don’t have your reservation which led me to believe I messed up on Open Table and maybe it didn’t register it. Instead of saying we don’t take reservations. Or maybe he did say it, I just couldn’t fathom a place like this not taking names.
