whereas most children view going to shibusen as a grand debut to their weapon careers, azusa’s thought of it originally as a prison she was excommunicated by her family to be swept under the rug.
it happened quickly after her first showing signs of a weapon — particularly a gun type — that she was sent away, her family treating her as a threat. & so her first few months was full of isolation, self loathing & thinking herself a monster.
so for a while she wouldn’t attend classes & would simply keep to herself. it was only with the combination of a meeting with lord death & finally gaining a friend in marie that she was able to slowly understand what being a weapon meant…& how to take pride in herself & the rare gift she has.
