gaze flickers, a brief glance cast in yuuji’s direction, a soft ( yet mildly exasperated ) sigh escaping his nostrils.  ‘ you’re welcome to leave. ‘  he says this, yet can’t recall asking yuuji to join him to begin with. rather, he’d more or less invited himself ( barged? ) inside. he seems to have a natural inclination for that; forcing his way into spaces that he hadn’t been invited.  ‘ not particularly. ‘  it wasn’t as though he spent much time in here anyway.

              𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐬,   jumps from bone to bone and rattles his lungs. a wily thing, keeping him on edge and alert. what a day its been already. lazarus, brought back in a little suitcase, carted along by a man all too happy to reveal his lies. megumi wants to throttle him. but he knows it was for a good reason, because they will try to kill him again. the goodwill event is the perfect opportunity for this, they all know it, they’re all thinking it. so he’s grateful, for maki’s hand on his shoulder as she leaves the room, a knowing look shared between the both of them. they will fight, & they will protect, & they will win. this he knows.

Stop using your age as excuse, old man. Or I’ll give you a reason to use it.

You remembering he’s your kid is amazing in itself.
