jayce delivers those words with eyes sharp upon the vastayan, like the cold razor-edge of a tool---very piltovan-like if one should ask, the bravado, the measured & sterile arrogance. it’s no wonder why he is their symbol, their poster child; he embodies the best and the worst of the city of progress, all in one man, wrapped in flesh, bones, and leather.

tearing his gaze away from the young woman, he lets out a little disapproving click of tongue, then roves his gaze over the people around them. they aren’t complete strangers to the vastaya, if the way their explorers bring knowledge about is any telling, but the novelty of seeing one among their crowds is clear. it’s no wonder why the fight broke out---as much as he loves his people, they can be certainly indelicate towards foreigners, especially those that look particularly profitable or exploitable. see, that’s he doesn’t blame her for being defensive. he also doesn’t blame people for their curiosity as long as it remained as curiosity,but it sure doesn’t mean all those feather... daggers? (curious design, he figures, but efficient for sure as far as magic is involved)---could be overlooked. nor the local’s funny business.

ah well, so much for a quiet stroll to the boundary markets, huh?

what matters now, though, is that as the defender, it gave him the right to intervene. which leads them to the precise situation they are in now.what, however, he doesn’t understand is why she chose him of all people to snap at, but he supposes it’s the least of his concerns right now.
