Forgive my Tumbling, I still haven't figured out Medium yet (holla at me Twirlz). There's been something on my mind the past couple weeks that I thought was worth addressing. As our generation begins to graduate from school and enter the real world, we're told by our superiors to seize the day. Our elder generation defines this as making the most of your time and  not wasting any opportunities. After twenty one years, I think I've had my fair shares of diems carped. However, I find the notion of solely seizing your day to be a bit half-assed. Maximizing time does not always mean maximizing efficiency; you can spend your entire day doing one task and still not have it be the best of your efforts. My sophomore year, I pledged a fraternity and held two online internships at the same time. Was this making the most of my time? Yes. Was it useful though? Not necessarily. I learned a valuable lesson that semester that wouldn't have been taught to me otherwise; time isn't for the taking, it's for the using. So, I have a new philosophy for you all today. Rather than the notion of seizing your time, I advise you to attack it. Attack your day. When you wake up in the morning, it's game time until your head hits that pillow eighteen hours later. You are a one man workhorse, always looking on the horizon for your next move. You don't seize opportunity, you create it. You can have your distractions and vices, but don't let them conquer you. Align yourself with forward-thinking people who share common goals and values. Stasis and normalcy are your poisons, not the clock. To end in the great words of Yeezus himself, 'Slow motion is better than no motion".
