         “What can you tell me about the limitations of your healing factor?”

          “I’ve always wondered what it’s like to die.”  The woman’s head tilted to the side, curiously, watching the Reaper’s reactions.   “To simply stop being.”  It was the one concept in all her millennia that she’d never quite understood.  “Do you remember what it was like?”

     “Ow. You know I’m still alive, right? I can feel that.” Rick sucked in a hiss through his teeth, feeling the doctor’s needle tugging the edges of his wound back together. 

          “you haven’t eaten today, have you? here i’ll make you something.”

          “I was going to travel. I came to stay for a week before I left, and during that week…“

      ❛ Undead. Yeah, I don’t know why I didn’t put two and two when I first met you... Staying alive and joking after that nasty attack that night. ❜ There was a guttural hum rippling from his lips, sounding much like a panther’s purr.      ❛ Well, my secret’s out. Your secret’s out. What can we do about but... have fun? ❜  There was more secrets to him that he let know though, but one at a time he guessed.

               “Oh! So you're like... what are you?“

                            “Strangely enough,” Thaddeus’ words carried a hint of his southern drawl, and a dash of the same amusement that was likely responsible for the extra little glint in his eye, and the creep of a deeper pull at the corners of his mouth than usual.   “I don’t think I’ve ever had that particular -- pleasure.”  In different circumstances he’d been more concerned than amused by her query, but knowing what she was did make it less of a life and death situation.  “Would you like a hand, there?”  He’d followed the portends to the crossroads of the accident that would claim the lives of all involved, though there was only one life, or rather only one soul, that he’d been concerned with out of the bunch.  He’d expected he might get some trouble, if one of the Reapers was to rear their head, and maybe he still would, but at least he didn’t abhor the company of this one.
