@deathbvtterfly !
Death doesn’t see the point in having his own personal harbinger. Why should humans be warned of their incoming demise --- it has always been inevitable. They should already be expecting it, and it’s quite rude that they always seem so damn surprised whenever it happens. Death and Papillion have been work colleagues for quite some time. The type of co-worker you nod politely too when you see each other in a morning, but then find yourself waiting for the elevator with them and, rather than endure the oncoming awkward silence, you mutter something about wanting to get more exercise and opt for the stairs instead.
That is the extend of their relationship: professional. Death has no idea what it is he actually does, but surely it must be important, otherwise he wouldn’t be showing up all the bloody time.
Death raises his scythe and brings it sweeping across the body of the latest deceased individual, then watches as their spirit disappears to wherever they’re going next. And rather than hopping back on his horse and riding away, Death hovers. Awkwardly. Like he wants to say something but can’t think of the words.
UM. NICE NIGHT FOR THIS - KIND OF JOB, ISN’T IT? GOOD, APPROPRIATE WEATHER. ONLY A LITTLE CHILLY. A RAINY DRIZZLE WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE, BUT YOU CAN’T GET EVERYTHING I SUPPOSE.
