Be still, my love. Your legs, they tremble with uncertainty as you wrap yourself into a blanket. Cold air creeps through a cracked window, It caresses your skin and leaves it chilled, But you voice no complaints, Only mumble sweet sounds of morning confusion. The clouds roll through this dirty city, The rain falls and the trees shake, The pitter patter of drops falling onto the pavement is a comfortable constant, And usually this would settle my nerves and pause my thoughts, But boy, You've got me shook. You are a prose that brings to me questions, And I can't seem to fall back to sleep without the answers, Despite the Sunday haze that hangs above us.. I watch you sleep and wonder of what you're dreaming. The occasional twitch or sigh leaves my mind hungry, What beautiful visions are hiding behind your eyelids this morning? I can't help but trace my fingers through your hair, And when you fall into my touch it's then that I know; I want to wake up like this every morning, Feeling the rise and fall of your chest, Hearing you softly sigh and seeing your sweet smile, How did I earn such an elaborate love?

My mind is not to be confused, I’m not interested in your past, Or maybe I am, But that’s not today’s focus, Today’s focus is you, And maybe you don’t get that enough; The fiery heat of the spotlight. Time to focus. You in the present. You in the purest form. Strip away your strength and show me what makes you vulnerable, But not weak, I long to know the little things. I’m interested about what makes you tick, what makes you so angry you cringe, what keeps you sane - or breaks your sanity, tell me those things, I beg of you to let me know, Your lines are bold and there’s writing between them, I’m squinting with all of my might to make out these hieroglyphics. They say the best words are left unspoken, So I dig between your lines searching for this undiscovered diction. I’m interest in what makes you smile, What makes you grit your teeth, And why there’s such a difference between the way your lips curl in these actions. Let my eyes seek solace in your statute, The time has come. Take your place in center stage, The spotlight is on you and the curtain is wide open; You have my undivided attention. People waste so much time on reputation, they simply forget that people change, That you aren’t the same person who did those things back then, And neither am I. this is you, And this is me, And we have become us. This is now, So here’s to today. I want to watch you happen in this single moment, And in every moment to follow.

For you I am much more than vulnerable, I am malleable, Watch as I fold at your very touch, My skin melting into your warmth, My walls ever so gracefully falling, I surrender to your hold, And long to be held for as long as you'll let me. I will let the pale glow of the black lights illuminate the night, Your pupils encompassing the entirety of my attention. The most comfortable of silence is found in your eyes, But suddenly shattered by tattered breaths, Air shared and Hands clasped, My body collapsed into yours. Atoms broke and planets collided; We evolved into one. I could feel the static buzzing through my veins, But I could not find where I ended and you began, Not even if I had wanted to. A love so strong steadied my nerves, My heart raced and swelled within my chest, Your hands gripped me but I felt no pressure, I found comfort. We silently spoke to one another, Looks shared said so much more than the English language could ever convey. You became my calm in a world of chaos, It was almost as if the earth stopped spinning, Obediently falling into our rhythm, One of which if documented could compare to no symphony, Orchestrating notes on scales never written, On instruments never built, This soundtrack played through my head and drowned out the white noise. You are a never ending thread of hope offering me solace, Your finger tips found secrets hidden in the tangles of my hair, You knotted your hands into them and pulled them from me, Amplifying my shivers and sighs, despite my attempts to hold them back. Give me a tab and place it on my tongue, Watch it dissolve along with my worries, Such an acidic addiction.

Contrary to the greater good, I am coming to fall in love with you. It’s the most honest thing I could ever say, From sunup to sundown this confession lies on the tip of my tongue, But for some reason it still feels like a lie, Because how can I love somebody who isn't mine? If I ask these questions am I selfish? You see, I don’t just love you, I crave your touch. The trance you've put on me seems to be permanent, But was it really even pertinent? What are your intentions? You've got my mind running laps and my heart beating to the rhythm of a double bass drum, A wildly written composition taking place in the upper left of my chest. I seek your advice and wish for your laugh, I'd listen to you speak until your throat no longer could, I'd fill your lungs with my sigh if only to hear another sentence, learning every little thing you'd let me. I would go blind just to be your muse, and I would lose my mind if it meant I could watch you become the person you aspire to be. I long to love you in the way you deserve, The way that couldn't quite be reached by her, Don't be mistaken, you're a work of art, The type to put against a wall and admire, A picture to glance at night after night, Each time revealing a new detail to make your eyes linger longer. If only you'd believe me, If given the chance my eyes would look you up and down until the stars fade to clouds, And then again back to stars, Because lord knows one day just doesn't come with enough time, Not for what I want to do with you. It seems that I'm coming to fall in love with you, And although this is so undeniably true, I would like to believe it goes beyond that, beyond anything words could ever begin to describe, But despite my lack of diction, I still find my pen clinging to the lines of this loose leaf paper, I'm trying to find them with all my might. Although I'm one for a challenge this task can't be met, But I'll be damned if I let that stop me. Lord knows that making you mine is the most delicate puzzle I've ever tried to piece, But darling once it's together it will be so grand, Worth all of the patience put in and then some. There's nothing like a future that builds itself, And I can't help but think that's what we would bring to one another, Unspoken stability, So for now I will dance in our chaos while I await the calm to our storm, Letting the rain sting my skin and remind me that I'm not weatherproof.
