I love you like I've never loved; Rather than dipping my toes, I dove headfirst in to unclear waters, And although it was unclear I wasn't unaware, Some risks are just worth taking, Some jumps are worth the leap, So I let this rapid river that is your love take me whole; I let it wash out the insides of my lungs, I have never felt so clean, I have never known such a precise purity, I've always lived in houses with chipped paint and loose shingles, With stained carpets and full ashtrays. For you I would swim an ocean's distance within the blink of an eye, I would travel to the ends of the sea and back again, Only to find that it was the moon coercing the tides, Egging on the waves as they crashed against my skin, And I would smile rather than scream, Even on the hardest days. Simple isn't our point of view, Our narrative lies in a world of chaos, One where walls can melt and microphones can listen, We never had any say in any of it, We were raised in a world of bitter disgust. An ugly realm full of so much hate, That's why we found a contrast. Unknowingly blossoming our own share of beauty, Our minds craved creativity so we put our hands to work, Slowly they glided along one another's, lips meeting with passion, acid dripping from our tongues, Love is the work of the universe, And on this plane you and I were made to coexist, Atoms don't ask before combining, Rather they collide and combust, Is this why my heart feels like it will beat right out of my chest when we share a room? It's chemical and cosmic but nonetheless it's beautiful, You leave me feeling vulnerable, And I've never liked that before.. Before you.
