How I feel about this character

I love this nerd 💕 he’s a dork but he’s also very intelligent, empathetic and optimistic about the world, even when he has so many reasons not to! He’s been through so much and it would be easy for him to be bitter or resentful but he’s not. He’s also developed his own thoughts and opinions on mages and Templars despite being raised and indoctrined with and by their ideology, which is more than a lot of people in ferelden have done

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I actually don’t really ship Alistair with anybody specifically but I’m a huge sucker for things where he gets to be happy and loved. Ive read some super cute Zevran x Alistair fics though and I ship him more with Cousland wardens than the others (but I’ve also only done the Cousland and Tabris Origins so I don’t reeeeally know the others as well outside of fandom stuff). And I love the idea of him and Anora working together and slowly developing feelings for each other. Ironically considering my answers are ‘Cousland’ and ‘Anora’, in the only play through I’ve finished, my Cousland dumped him for Zevran (broke my heart :( ) and i made Anora queen by herself...

My non-romantic OTP for this character

100% my Cousland. In my headcanon, they connected really well and bonded over shared experiences living in castles and around nobility, and started the romance but realised it wasn’t working and settled for just best friends instead. Could be just a general warden thing but my current warden is very distrustful of him. I kind of see him getting along with everyone though rather than specifically getting along with one person! I like the idea of him and Wynne bonding over practical skills like sewing and cooking.

My unpopular opinion

I struggled here actually haha. But eventually I thought of the jokes about Alistair cooking and I dont think he’s a bad cook actually! I think he’s just used to preparing large quantities of food with supplies that are readily available bc that’s what the Wardens would need.

One thing I wish had/would happen

fred after that drive when he has to tell his good friend velma that he loves her dearly but they almost died 48 times so he needs the keys back until he can give her some lessons but he doesnt want to bc it might hurt her feelings
