Sorry to my dispatch fans, I had this idea and had to write it down ;-; Still working on chapter 11 tho!
Summary/Notes: Deadpools past villains have found him once again and are trying to kill him once and for all. Spiderman hides him away until the threat can be dealt with, but things take a turn for the worse.
(+ Green goblin going after Spiderman)
This takes place when Spiderman and Deadpool only recently started teaming up. Spiderman is still a bit unsure of Deadpool, but Deadpool is Spiderman's #1 fan despite that.
Angst no romance. But I do ship them
No Hero Coming.
T-Ray found him.
Deadpool thought T-Ray was a villain of the past. Old news! He's moved on to better and hotter villains and T-Ray is just going to have to get over him.
But damn he really wants deadpool dead, like dead dead, like forever dead.
Ajax and Bullseye seem to be teaming up with T-Ray. More ex's from the past just seem to be trying to put Deadpool in the ground!
Also, what the hell Bullseye? Thought you were better than teaming up with those two. SO disappointing.
Luckily his new bestest buddy Spiderman swung in when they all tried jumping him, whisking Deadpool away like a knight in shinning armour!
Not so Luckily, Spiderman had been mid-fight with Green Goblin when he had spotted Deadpool getting jumped. And being the green devil that he was, he had no problems aiding the three evil doers in their chase, as long as he got Spiderman in the end.
"You need to stop squirming!"
"YOU need to add jet boosters to this suit! Come on! Can't you swing faster!"
Deadpool was clinging to the front of Spidermans torso, full on koala bearing it. He shot at their pursuers well Spiderman swung them to safety.
Their pursuers tried splitting up, cutting them off, shooting them out of the sky.
Deadpool knew he was slowing Spiderman down, making him unable to swing that lean body with Deadpools bulky one in the way. So he did his best to tank any hit thrown their way.
"Seriously Pool! I'm gonna end up dropping you if you keep moving like that!"
"Don't worry about me baby boy! Best thing about being immortal is I can fall from any height and survive. Well that and-"
"Not the time-! Is that an arrow in your neck!?"
"Heads up!"
Spiderman dropped out of the sky to avoid a pumpkin bomb thrown their way, still holding Deadpool he webbed a street lamp last second to catch their fall, then swung them right down the stairs to the subway.
"Uhh- Spidey! Civies!"
"Make way! Villains in coming!"
Peter webbed the way that they had just come in, people started filing out of another stairway.
Instead of putting Deadpool down and getting ready to fight, Spiderman jumped onto the side of a moving train, Deadpool squished between Spidermans torso and the side of the metal train, speeding down the tunnel.
"Nice thinking Spidey, but do you think you could do a little less squishing. Kinda giving me a complex, pressing up against me like that and all."
"I swear if you bring up your 'katana' again, I'm not talking to you for a month."
"Okay! Yeesh!"
Spiderman started crawling alongside the speeding train. Which sadly for Deadpool and his katana, meant that his back was dragging against the cold steel of the train, and his front was being grinded against by-
Just don't think about it, don't think about it-!
Spiderman paused with a sigh.
"That's your gun, right?"
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
Spiderman begrudgingly continued forward. They eventually reached the back of the train and landed on the trains little platform.
Spiderman stood there for a moment. The eyes of his mask narrowing into an annoyed look.
"You can let go now."
"Oh- right of course."
Deadpool awkwardly de-tangled himself from Spiderman and started working on getting the arrow out of his neck.
"Wait here."
Spiderman used his spidey strength to open the door, entering the train and leaving Deadpool alone with his thoughts. Or less so his thoughts and more so the voices in his head.
Spiderman wasn't gone long though, he returned with a bundle of clothes that he likely got from the civies on the train. Damn, Spiderman must really have a good fan base here.
He tossed a bundle at Deadpool.
"Here, put these on."
They both got changed out of their suits and into the hoodies and sweatpants they were so graciously provided with.
Though unlike Spiderman, Deadpool still had his mask on.
"EEK! Spidey! You're- You're-- NAKED!"
Spiderman huffed and pulled his hood tighter over his head to hide his face with one hand, and slapped his other hand over Deadpools mouth.
"I'm not- ugh. Just take yours off too. We'll do our best to not look at each other. No peeking! Got that Deadpool?"
"Got it! No sneaky peakys! But uh.. I'm not sure how good of an idea this is.."
Deadpool turned his head away.
If anything taking his mask might just draw more attention to him.
"You got a better one?"
Spidermans voice sounds different when it isn't somewhat muffled behind a mask.. But Deadpool tries not to commit it to memory. He still hesitates when it comes to taking off his mask.
"I kind of stand out either way.. "
"Wait, they know what you look like?"
"No- Well yes but- that's not the point. My face is well.. Not the bees knees."
That wasn't the best way to describe it, but it seemed to get the job done seeing as Spiderman just nods.
"ah... Gotcha.."
The unmasked spider paused for a moment before continuing.
"I know it's not ideal, but if we just keep our hoods up and heads down we should be okay. I mean with all the crazy crap that happens in this city, I'm sure no one would look twice at a guy with a horrible moustache."
Spiderman elbowed Deadpools arm, making an attempt at lightening the mood as the train slowed to a stop.
And he succeeded at bringing a smile to Deadpools face. Though both of them weren't looking at each other, the atmosphere was lighting up.
Deadpool gasped and clutched his chest in a dramatic display of offence.
"I'll have you know my moustache is one of my best features."
"So you DO have one. Is it a fancy one that curls at the ends?"
Deadpool let a laugh and pulled his hood up.
"Wouldn't you like to know."
Deadpool slowly removed his mask, shoving it in his hoodies pocket. He kept his head down, he was just Wade Wilson now.
Spiderman took the lead, hopping off the back of the train and onto the catwalk at the side of the tunnel. Once they reached the boarding platform they just blended in with the crowd.
Wade tried keeping his gaze down, he didn't want to accidentally see Spidermans civilian identity. Though if Spiderman did reveal his identity it would be a sign of complete trust and proof of their amazing friendship status! Wade would be honoured!
He's sure that Spidey wouldn't care about Wades looks, he's too nice of a guy! But for some reason the thought of the amazing Spiderman looking at Deadpools unmasked face makes Wade feel queasy..
Best not to dwell on whatever that could mean though!
It's not like Spidermans going to reveal his face today. They both seem to be doing their best to avoid looking at each other. Wade for the most part was just following Spideys shoes.
But the subway crowd was getting thicker, and Wade was losing him on the stairs. By time they reached the surface Wade had lost him.
If he just lifts his head he could probably spot his hoodie in the crowd but.. Wade didn't want to risk it. He didn't want to find out who Spiderman was by accident. It's against the super bro code!!
He'll just- find a spot on the curb and wait. Or no, should he go to one of their meeting spots and hope that Spiderman will meet him there?
Just as Wade was overthinking, and the voices in his head were being of NO use. A hand grabbed his forearm.
Wade thought one of the four evil doers had found him. But when he looked down at the hand firmly, yet gently gripping his forearm. It was attached to a familiar blue hoodie sleeve.
"Phew- Thought I lost you for a second Spidey"
"Shh! Don't call me that when I'm, dressed like this."
"Whatever you say baby boy."
Spiderman groans in annoyance, and Wade oh so wishes he could see that eyeroll that likely just took place.
He wraps his arm around Wades arm, walking side by side now.
"Careful now shnookums, we're starting to look like a real couple now."
"It's just so we don't lose each other again, keep walking."
"Whatever you say sweetheart."
Wade spent most of the walk yapping and trying to hold hands, and Spiderman spent most of it begging him to shut up well occasionally, begrudgingly holding Deadpools hand. So the usual!
Eventually they made it to what Wade assumed was Spideys hideout. Or more realistically just some abandoned warehouse that Spidey decided to duck into.
Spiderman slipped his mask back on and Wade followed his lead, back to being Deadpool!
He followed Spiderman around as the hero checked out the warehouse.
Eventually Spiderman found some cellar looking doors which actually led to a large basement. Damn. This warehouse has tons of storage! Why would anyone abandon this place?
"Come on, down here."
"Ooo~! Spiderman's taking me to his spidey cave! What's down here? Weapons stash? Man cave? Sex dungeon?"
"No, no, and ew. What is wrong with you?"
"You know, you'd think after a while you'd stop asking me that."
Deadpool didn't even bother hiding his disappointment at the boring dark basement, filled with nothing but old shelves and boxes of discontinued products. Spiderman checked things out again before turning towards Deadpool. Deadpool just tilted his head somewhat curiously at the hero before speaking
"Oooookay? Temporary safe-house then. I can work with that. So what's the plan?"
Spiderman started backing up towards the stairs. Already knowing that Deadpool wasn't going to like his answer.
"The plan is.. You hide here, and I go call backup to handle this."
"What!? Webs that's a horrible plan!"
Spiderman quickly jumped up the stairs with Deadpool hot on his heels, slamming the cellar doors behind him and holding them shut, trapping Deadpool inside.
Deadpool banged on the doors, throwing his shoulder into them. But they wouldn't budge, not with Spidermans spidey strength holding them shut.
"Ha Ha Webs, very funny. Playing a good ol' joke on your good ol' pal! But seriously! How about you let me out now and we discuss a REAL plan to handle this."
"This is my REAL plan. If those guys are capable of killing you then you should stay out of the fight."
"WHAT!? You fight people who can kill you all the time!!"
"Yeah, but I also avoid getting shot and stabbed a lot more than you do. Last week you lost a whole leg, and we weren't even fighting a supervillain."
"Hey! That car was NOT following road safety!"
Spiderman could only sigh and shake his head.
"You ran out in front of them well chasing a pickpocket.."
"Okay- Okay, maybe I haven't been very safe in the past. But that's because I know I can just regenerate. I've fought these guys before, I know what I'm doing"
"You've fought them all before when they decided to team-up for some unknown reason to hunt you down for another unknown reason?"
"Well I can think of a ton of reasons why they would want to hunt me down buuuut.. The whole teaming up thing has me confused too.."
"Riiight.. Well until we know what's going on, and have those three, or well four taken care of. You stay here, and when it's safe I'll come and get you."
"As cool as it is that you're being all heroic and protective, I can take care of myself. These guys are dangerous Webs, I know them best, I can help."
"Sorry Pool, but I just don't trust you not to do something stupid and get yourself or someone else killed."
"I thought we were passed that.."
Deadpool deflated. Him and Spiderman have been hanging out more, he thought Spidey trusted him more than this.
Spiderman just paused for a moment, feeling somewhat guilty for this. He knew Deadpool was trying to change but.. the threat level was just too high, and Deadpool was still working on his impulse control.
"Sorry but.. It's for your own good. I'll make it up to you when this is all over."
Deadpool was filled with disappointment at Spidey not changing his mind. But he was also worried. Spiderman was a capable hero, and he said he'd call for back up but.. something about all this just felt off.
"Hey! If you're gonna do this, then at least let me give you some insider knowlage."
Spiderman thankfully agreed.
He listened intently as Deadpool told him every detail about the villains. He was somewhat impressed at how seriously Deadpool was talking, he didn't even crack a joke when giving all the information he could.
Spiderman matched his serious tone, wanting Deadpool to know that he could handle this.
Just as Spiderman was about to leave, Deadpool called out to him.
"You be safe! You still have to come back and make up for locking me down here! And I'm already coming up with ideas!!"
There's got to be a limit to how much Spiderman can sigh in a day, and he must have reached this limit since he just begrudgingly smiles instead, calling back to Deadpool as he blocks off the cellar doors with webs and shelves.
"Just keep them all PG."
"And there goes all my Ideas."
Deadpool listened to footsteps fade, and the familar sound of a THWIP of a web being shot out.
He stared up at the basement ceiling and clasped his hands together.
"Dear lord, please bring that glorious ass back to me in one piece."
Deadpool tried to escape right away.
Sadly there was only one exit from the basement, and it was shut tight. Spiderman must have webbed it.
After going at the door with his pistols, katanas, and whatever the hell else he had on his person, he realized he was stuck. So he moved on to exploring the basement for anything useful. He found nothing useful, and ended up just playing with rejected toys.
Toy guns which actually hurt if you got shot by them, waterguns which also hurt if you got shot by them. Or, maybe it just hurt because he filled them with some rejected soda he found, that stuff is like acid.
He tried pouring it on the door but.. yeah. Not acidy enough.
For a good while he could entertain himself, but he was getting worried about Spidey.
Spiderman had contacted the Avengers, but they apparently had their hands tied with some alien invasion right now. They said they'd come once they were done but who knows how long that could take?
He didn't have any of the X-mens numbers, so they were off the list too.
The fantastic four maybe?
Peter called only to find out that the four were currently out of the country, but they said they were on their way.
Great.
Helps coming. But not fast enough.
Maybe he shouldn't have locked Deadpool away, but he just wasn't confident in his ability to protect the loud mouth merc. And he REALLY wasn't confident in Deadpools ability to protect himself.
Spiderman already had a list of people he had failed at protecting, no need to add another name to it.
The group of evil doers had decided they had waited long enough and were now escalating to attacking civilians in order to lure Spiderman and Deadpool out.
Peter had to act.
He swung in, trying to web the area off and take the attention away from the fleeing pedestrians. Though he was having some trouble doing damage control well four super-villains were trying to send him to an early grave.
Spiderman was mostly just buying time, running his mouth to try and get at four, messing with their head.
But they were all completely locked in, except for Green Goblin, who apparently was just a means to an end since the main three tossed him aside when he was no longer of use.
Spiderman webbed Green Goblin to catch him from falling out of the air. And in exchange, an arrow pierced Spidermans shoulder. He had been fighting for hours, it was already getting to be night. He couldn't keep up anymore, at this point he was fleeing.
Ace had snatched up the Goblin Glider and was chasing Spiderman through the air.
T-ray had stolen a motorcycle and was shooting at him with a pistol well speeding after him on the ground.
Bullseye was somehow keeping up well running on the roof tops and-- How the hell hasn't he run out of arrows!?
Spiderman had just dodged a shot from bullseye, only to feel a bullet rip through his leg. Ace took the opportunity to fly the glider directly into Spiderman, knocking him out of the air.  Spiderman shot a web to try and catch himself, but he wasn't quick enough. He landed on the top of a car, siren now blaring, his spidey senses wouldn't stop tingling.
"Ugh.."
Spiderman tried to get up, but a very very large leg stomped down on him. The three surrounded the downed hero, and now that they were all up close and personal, he could see that something was definitely something not right with them. Their eyes were glowing?
"We just want Deadpool. Tell us where he is, and this can all be over."
"Any chance we can talk this out?"
That just landed him a heavy punch to his head.
Spiderman lifted his hand to try and web them, but his arms were slammed down, Ace and Bullseye on either side of him.
"I'm sure you all have your reasons for wanting him dead- But I'm kind of sensing there might be a little more to this than-- ACK!!"
Spiderman was winded by another punch, he can feel the crunch of his rips as they break. They strung him up on a streetlamp, and if he wasn't in so much pain right now he might even comment on how he now knows how the crooks he catches feel.
They appear to be using him as bait now, waiting for Deadpool to come out. Except Spiderman is the only one who knows that Deadpool isn't coming, can't come even if he wanted to.
He just has to survive long enough for either the Avengers or the Fantastic Four to arrive but.. They should've been here by now. Something REALLY isn't right.
They waited an hour, but the three were getting impatient when they still saw no sign of Deadpool.
T-Ray approached him again.
"Where. Is. He."
"I don't know-"
WHACK!
T-Ray punched him hard, Spiderman felt more bones crack. He felt like a pinata. He didn't have the energy to make any quips, and he couldn't talk to these guys since they clearly weren't thinking for themselves. Or at least he didn't think they were.
"Call him out."
"I can't-"
POW!
Spiderman was reeling from another blow, he's not sure how much longer he can keep this up for. He could give them a fake location, but that runs the risk of sending them towards potential civilians. He can't give them the real location either or Deadpool would be done for.
T-Ray looked towards the other two
"Start getting civilians."
The two just nodded and walked away.
Peter was panicking now. He was running out of options.
"No! Wait!! I'll talk! I'll talk!"
The two paused their steps, this was Peters last chance.
"I.. I sent him away. After we lost you guys this morning.. told him I'd call for back up."
It wasn't a full lie, but it also wasn't really the truth. All Spiderman could do was hope it would be good enough for these three to move on and hunt for the merc elsewhere.
"That's all I know.. He's probably left the city by now, but if you split up maybe you can still catch-"
"Which way."
"Um.. North? Or maybe South? He didn't really say-"
Two large hands in-cased Spidermans head fully.
"Then what use are you.."
"W-Wait! NO-"
SNAP!
A sickening sound rang out the empty streets. The trio moved on, likely continuing their search. Leaving Peters body hanging limply, upside down from a light post. His mask twisted around his head the wrong way, his neck snapped at an awkward angle.
Deadpool wasn't sure how much time had passed. He tried to escape a few more times only to fail again and again. Messing around with all the stuff down there was fun, but he didn't like being left with the text boxes too long, especially when they started talking about something happening to Spidey.
It's been too long.. He's worried, he wants out.
Maybe Spiderman just forgot which warehouse he left Deadpool in? Or got stuck on some side quest with the Adventures or whatever other superhero group he decided to call up for help. Yeah that had to be it. He'll remember about Deadpool, come open up those doors, and everything will go back to normal.
Deadpool sat on a box, lost in thought. He just had to trust Spidey and wait for his hero to return for him.
Except...
There is, no hero coming...
Authors Notes:
This is just an idea I had that I'm likely not going to actually turn into a fic.
(Especially since I'm only a casual spiderman fan and don't have that spidey knowledge)
If this idea has been done before let me know in the comments so I can read it.
If it hasn't been done before and you wanna write your own version of it, go for it! but again let me know in the comments so i can read it <3
Eventually the other heroes find Deadpool (or just some random people who went in the warehouse) and tell him what happened to his favourite webheadÂ
Double angst if Spiderman becomes one of the voices in his head. But since it obviously isn't really Spiderman it probably switches between being the moral voice of reason/angle on his shoulder. But when he's feeling very low about himself the voice is mean to him (When the voice is mean it's mainly just a projection of his self blame/guilt for what happened to Spiderman)
