Will forever be convinced that Gibbs being mad at Tony re: EJ in āDead Reflectionā is not about a blanket rule against sleeping with coworkers, but specifically with sleeping with EJ, especially vis-Ć -vis the Ziva situation.
I say this every time this arc is on, but from the get-go Gibbs doesnāt trust EJ, and she gives him good reason not to. (That is a whole other topic.)
But when Tony tells Gibbs why heās dating EJ, he sounds like heās convincing himself more than Gibbs. Especially when heās like, āsheās easy to be with.ā (Or whatever it is he says, Iām too lazy to rewind and I turned the tv on halfway through the scene.) Gibbs stares him down then, and I fully believe thereās more than a touch of, āeasy doesnāt mean itās good.ā
I know Iām leaping, but Gibbs has also been such a dad over the years about them and subtly called Tiva out on their fuckery, so I stand by it. By sleeping with EJ and embroiling the whole team in it, heās messing with their dynamic, and wasting whatās right in front of his face. (Meaning... Ziva. Because thatās always where my brain goes to.)
been really feeling these lyrics lately.
