I don’t know what we’re called- Millenials, Generation Y, but being in my early 30s I’ve been on and off social media for years, never quite able to be comfortable with it.  Rather than deactivate, you can actually delete your Facebook account, and when that happens in two weeks (yes you have to wait two weeks...) it’ll be the second time I’ve done so.  There’s only so much any one person can handle and cope with at any one time.  In a digital world we experience the remains of what should have been able to fade away peacefully.  Having hundreds of online friends is a weird premise, a quasi-community of seemingly vast potential that paradoxically acts as a barrier to contact and intimacy.  With the idea that- we now go online for what we used to leave the house for- then it’s never been more important to evaluate what we do and do not need from modern social networking.  Our social networks are there to facilitate contact not to suppress the need for it.

I am feeling better and so I will update much more!
