Continuing with the teeth + long lost vampire prince point, do you think different sizes carry different marks ? Does every vampire carry their own unique marking after they feed ? Would Deacon leave some glaringly obvious princely mating mark on our neck on accident after trying to hold off on feeding but losing the reins to starvation and-

A man who yearns is a man who earns is a phrase i hope we all know by now. I will be slapping it onto that white boy's forehead. He's an absolute loser for you, completely goo-goo eyes and brushing aside a strand of his hair and just looking like a deer in headlights. He gets clowned on by Buddy and Wave and Pru about you, for never getting farther then a quick nod or wave in the hallways, maybe a conversation by your locker if he's lucky.

They don't know about your partner, the one that he always sees you with, Deacon's straight up terrified of them. Chase tells him its okay to have a crush, he just can't act on it. It kills him, wanting you so badly, you're constantly on his mind and invading his dreams. It's embarrassing. He feels so ashamed, so stupid, for falling for someone he doesn't have a chance with.

But one day you show up late to class, you look like a wreck and your face is all puffy and it's clear to anyone that you've been crying all night. Deacon's there in an instant, asking if you'd like some tissues and the notes you missed. He doesn't ask what happened, it isn't important. What's important is that you're okay, and it's a breath of fresh air compared to how the other students ask such personal questions about you. You never considered yourself close with Deacon, but maybe that should change. It's nice not having to explain your break-up for what felt like the 50th time already this morning.

These simple, no explanation interactions happen more and more. Your stomach will grumble and he'll quietly pass you a piece of candy, if he sees you taking a nap, he'll make sure to wake you up before the bell rings by tapping your fingers with his pen so you're not late for your next class, nothing big but big enough for you to notice and endear him to you.

But it catches him off guard when you start seeking him out, talking more with him. He gets a rush from it, yeah, and he's trying not to stammer with every sentence, but he never expected this to happen. He's gotta be dreaming, right? Surely he's just hallucinating those not so sneaky glances you've given him, or the warmer look in your eges, or the hand that reaches to hold his on the bleachers.

And why is your ex always looking weirdly at him...? And why do you encourage them with the way you bat your eyelashes and giggle and inch just that little bit closer to him whenever you two catch them looking at the two of you together...?
