#deacon rambles

- He's a night owl !! Has stayed up too many times studying that he lowkey has troubles falling asleep whenever he tries to go to bed at a normal time unless he's like. Dead tired.

- Deacon's only a few months away from legal drinking age (as Cinderella boy takes place in the summer and he's canonically 20) but its not really something he thinks about.

- He's grown up watching too many 'don't drink and drive' PSA'S that he's a little scared to overindulge.

- That said he has drank a glass of champagne before for new year's, and he's not the biggest fan of it.

- Deacon has his driver's license (although he hardly uses it) and is a rather safe driver, although I can totally see him pulling some swift turns and cool tricks as a getaway driver.

- The specific category that Deacon is studying for in medical school is Family Physican/Primary Care Provider. It may not be his dream but his heart is in the right place.

- While he never becomes a doctor, he does memorize some basic medical care stuff, and carries a first aid kit with him at all times.

- I imagine he does have some natural talent in that field since it's hard work to be a doctor, but this makes it that much harder for him to leave and follow his dreams of becoming a writer.

- At somepoint in this job transition, he discovers research writers, those people that write medical reports and all that, and briefly wonders if he could bring it up to his parents. (He never does, he knows that they'll say no).

How big is this vampire population ? How far does their reach extend ? Do we happen to come across a long lost vampire prince in our southern gothic small town ?

Continuing with the teeth + long lost vampire prince point, do you think different sizes carry different marks ? Does every vampire carry their own unique marking after they feed ? Would Deacon leave some glaringly obvious princely mating mark on our neck on accident after trying to hold off on feeding but losing the reins to starvation and-

-Big fan of anything green apple flavored, although if that's not available he'll pick cherry.

-used to want a cat when he was younger, but his dad has a fur allergy

-he's a mixed metals kind of guy, even though he doesn't wear a lot of jewlery.

-I can picture him getting some more piercings on his ears when he's finally able to figure out how he wants to present himself.

-This is also the reasoning behind the single tiny tattoo of a ship's anchor he has on him. No you will not find out from him that he has one, nor will you find where it is on his body (best guess gets star brigade tickets, although im leaning towards unintentional tramp stamp).

-realistically I don't think deacon will have much of an alternative style once he's free to dress how he pleases but in my head he does. Mix between y2k/scene graphic shirts and jeans plus some of the comfiest matching sweatpant/jacket combos you've ever seen. Lots of oranges, browns, hints of blue, his main color palette just with some black detailing.

-big fan of dorfic (frutiger substyle)

-He's got more freckles running up and down his back and chest, plus his pelvis area. He used to be self-conscious about his freckles but it went away after a while.

-He gets into the habit of doing bets while inside the stories more, as a result of this he's tried on waterproof eyeliner, learned one of Chase's many dance moves, and let himself be given a 'makeover' more then once.

-Knows how to fish, he's gone on fishing trips with his dad before. Can easily get the spines out too, and somewhere on his dad's phone is a picture of him awkwardly holding some big ass fish.

-He does have some people over at medical school he's friendly with, and he wasn't a complete loner during high-school. It would feel a little isolating hearing them all have so much excitement about going into medical school, but there was one or two that were doing marine biology and he was rather happy for them.

-Continuing this train of thought, deacon took a marine sciences elective at some point and knows a lot of facts about marine life, he's got a soft spot for the twilight zone (the sea level that holds the most bioluminescent organisms)

-Expert at tying knots !! Started out with the arbor knot, then reef knot, and so on and so forth.

-king of boardgames over here, has smiled smugly as Chase tweaks out and inevitably ends up flipping the board.

-when he was little he was scared of the dark. Needed a little nightlight in the shape of a lighthouse to be able to go to sleep on his own.

God he looks so loser core here. Does the eye contact count as breaking the forth wall ? We'll never know i suppose.

ARFARFSFSGSUSISIS. Chat. The scream I let out. The bunnies i kicked. Ohhhh my god im drooling. He looks so fucking. CHATTTTT !!! what if I said this reminded me of a scene from my fic. What then.

Goddd I love his dialogue. Hes so whipped. AND HIS POUT ??? I swear I say it every time but god that is MY king of sulky town. Tell me someone else has been awakened as a deacon simp PLEASE.

AU where Deacon finds his little corner of ao3 and is an active author on the fanfic site for his niche fandom, he's moots with a few other writers of the same fandom and every time he uploads a new wip, chapter, or even a worrisome authors note (NO ONE is safe from the ao3 authors curse) there's always one user who gives kudos and comments first: us !!

Its a terribly sweet gesture, having someone watch him slowly improve and hone his craft, always eager to compliment and leaving paragraphs of their favorite parts of a fic that he always reads to himself whenever he's down. It's all heartfelt, and he KNOWS he's such a loser for slowly gaining feelings for someone online, but he just can't help it. You aren't doing this on purpose, he's seen you leave comments and kudos on his moots' fics too, and while their liking to you is similar, it hardly runs as deep.

It seems he's your favorite too, as his friends send screenshots of you in their comment sections recommending his fics to other commentors. It makes his heart swell, knowing that his stories have reached someone who cherishes them as much as he does, who's just as eager to figure out what comes next.

You two don't interact too much, Deacon’s great at fleshing out characters and arcs but my bbg does NOT know how to keep a conversation going with someone he likes and he doesnt want you to see him as a loser.

BUT THE PLOT THICKENS because I need to add the trope of "online pooks dont know they're enemies irl" because im very fond of it and I include these things when I can. Plus it gives me the chance to introduce the academic rivals trope !! That's right, you and Deacon have been at it since freshman year of high-school, fighting for that top spot, for the best grade, and just absolutely HATE each other's guts. Neither of you are above sabotage at this point, both have been victims of pranks, all that fun stuff !!
