The best cosplayer I met that year wasn't wearing an elaborate costume; they were wearing something totally simple. I met them in the lobby of the Los Angeles Convention Center at Comikaze 2012, and they immediately challenged me to a dance-off. Naturally, I lost!
What made the biggest impression wasn't the loss, but their sheer energy. For over a decade, I didn't know who they were cosplaying. It turns out it was Flik from DDR X2.
