A Free Lead Safety Briefing + Lunch On Us
A joint briefing by DDOE and EPA will address lead regulation for homes and families. Register today to learn about how you can prevent a lawsuit.Â
GET YOUR FREE LUNCH TICKET TODAY!
On Wednesday, October 28, 2015, Pierre Erville from DDOE and Cindy Wheeler from the EPA will talk to us about preventing lead poisoning.
This is a part of the EPA's ongoing  Lead-Free Kids initiative to spread call on neighbors to prevent lead poisoning.  Exposure to lead can seriously harm a child's health and children under age 6 are most at risk for lead poisoning. The good news: Lead poisoning is preventable!  Get your home tested. Get your child tested. Get the facts! Learn why it's important to prevent lead exposure.
The Bottom Line: Your business cannot afford to be derailed when it comes to lead safety. It's an easily avoidable crisis and affordable testing contractors are available. Get your home tested and tell your clients how they can help prevent lead poisoning as well.

Flathead catfish, native to the Mississippi River, are now being found in the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers. These guys can get much larger than the native catfish species. They, along with invasive blue catfish and snakehead, represent a significant threat native fish, crayfish, and snails that love in DC's waters. These are on display at the Aquatic Resources Education Center in Anacostia Park. #DDOE #AREC #igdc #DCnature #thisisDC #flatheadcatfish #invasivespecies (at Aquatic Resources Education Center)
DDOE To Host Lead-Based Paint Contractor Meeting
Last year we connected you with DDOE to discuss DC's lead-based paint regulations. DDOE crafted a presentation covering the difference between DC and Federal regulations. Also, DDOE explained tenant rights among a wealth of other topics. DDOE recently announced they will host a Contractor Q&A on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. This session aims to inform District-based contractors about DC lead law and regulations. Those who want to attend may fill out the attached form and send it to DDOE. We think it would be a great idea for you to share this information with your preferred contractor. If they have any questions, they can contact the Lead and Healthy Housing Division Director, Mr. Pierre Erville, at 202-535-2505. They may also contact the Division's Compliance and Enforcement Branch Chief, Ms. Amber Sturdivant, at 202-478-2441.

In late June 2014, AM Neighbors for Action visited the DC Dept. of Environment. We received this incomplete Environmental Assessment. We are asking for a full EIS on the hotel impacts be conducted before any building permits are issued. Support us in this request, by signing this Petition.
