The ringleader’s hand slid into the hat, and carefully plucked two strips of paper. He took his time, staying silent, letting the anticipation hover over the audience. Then, flattening the two folds of paper out on the lectern in front of him, his eyes raked the audience and he spoke out in a distinguished voice.

"The sacrifices for the second match are Flynn and Penny. Further information regarding the fight will be released later. In the interim, finish your preparations and any… sentimental business you may have.”

This arena is characterized by its unique flooring. Not dirt,  not tile, not wood, but a bed of nails akin to the type occasionally used in the sideshows. There isn’t an inch of flooring that isn’t covered by them. How long will the contestants be able to stand the pressure before one of them falls, and the nails become the other’s advantage instead of hindrance?

Are they still a thing? I haven’t even seen them talk in what, months? Eh, at that rate, I’d say it’s not happening.

I think both of their hearts are about to be broken. Tramp’s right up there with Flynn for me in the asshole schmoozer land— I don’t trust either of them as far as I can throw them, ‘specially not in relationships. Although yeah, I do find it a little sad that Tramp bypassed her for a girl he hasn’t known as long, even though he’d been flirting with Ginger. Redhead, I’d move on, he’s not worth your time. Same goes for you Annette.

Barrel sat outside the hotel, in the cold, picking at his nails and watching the people around him. It was nice to be out in the cold sometimes and it didn't really bother him that much. Sure it wasn't the most comfortable, but he had a jacket on and tried to ignore that fact. The cold was refreshing, and it helped the clear the head a little.

He'd been spending a lot of time with his sister and Angel and needed a break. Not so much from Angel, he loved spending time with her, but Shock was getting on his nerves. There was sure to be other people around here, yes? There was a whole carnival full of people, there had to be other people to talk too. It didn't really dawn on him that to meet these people he should probably get off his butt and go find them himself, but he wasn't the brightest kid around.
