@dcminicparker || Returning to the diner was the closest to a homecoming he’d felt so far. Roslan was fifteen minutes early -- a first. He hadn’t wanted to risk any overlap with Jace’s schedule, and fifteen more minutes at the diner meant fifteen minutes less in the house.
As he was struggling with the apron he had accidentally left tied in the washer, he heard the doors open again, and a familiar mop of brown hair came into view. Roslan hadn’t glanced at anyone else on the schedule, but he was quietly relieved it was Dominic on the shift with him. Roslan didn’t know much about him, only that he was one of the better cooks and that he usually kept to himself during work, and that sounded like a good break from forcing small talk like Roslan had compulsively been doing since he got back. “Hey. Someone from the shift before said you left this yesterday.” He spared a hand to hold out a name tag printed with Dominic.
