My visa was approved for the USA and now it all feels so real! Iāve just got to pay for insurance then everything is sorted and I just have the next 2 weeks to work and pack and say bye to everyone. I canāt believe Iām actually moving to America in 2 weeks and will be living and working there for a year Iām so excited š

It has literally been years since Iāve been active here. BUT since I have recently started the DCEP program I am going to start blogging about my experiences as an international cast member at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. I start my second day of in costume training tomorrow and I am so excited to really start my journey, with Mickey himself as my boss! I will first post my experiences with the process of applying, including my resume, cover letter, interview and finally, what it was like to receive the best news of my life! Also, any lists and/or notes that I feel were really helpful to me as I packed and prepared for the big move. My inbox is always open to any questions or if you just wanna say hi! Get ready to coast the clouds with me on this magic carpet ride. If you were ever considering doing this program, I can tell you that I have already made memories that will last a lifetime, and I canāt wait to do the same for the guests.
1 Week to Go!
So as of today itās officially 1 week until I have my interview for the August 2018 intake for the Disney Aus/NZ Cultural Exchange program. I donāt think Iāve ever been more excited for something...ever...? I think I might actually explode from internalising the excitement.Ā
The way I see it, itās actually real this time. Last time was a practice run - and a successful one at that. It killed me having to decline my offer last year, but unfortunately Iām not made of money... This time, however, I am wayyyy more prepared. This time, itās actually, properly, truely real, which has me bouncing off the walls, while at the same time biting my nails down to stubs.
Iāve spent I donāt even know how long prepping for this; I keep thinking to myself that Iāve done this before and succeeded, so itās a sure thing. But Iām petrified that in that regard Iāve become way too passive about the whole thing.Ā At the end of the day, thereās only one way to find out.Ā
On that note though, Iām starting to stress about my appearance. Do I look like all the girls that I see in the countless DCP vlogs on youtube? No. Not even a bit - Iām chubby in my face and round the middle with mad acne and scars all over my face and arms. In a weird way, I feel that I shouldnāt do this until Iām skinny with clear skin...that itāll be a waste of a once in a lifetime opportunity, because I wonāt want to take photos with me in them, which is something I know Iāll regret later down the road.Ā
But I donāt know. I think Iāll feel better getting all of this out into the atmosphere. Even if it is semi-anonymously on a public platform...itās still off of my chest you know?
So thatās my news - 1 week until interviews. 1 week to get my head into a better place, because Iām going to be so mad if I ruin this by overthinking.Ā
Iāll try an keep this blog updated, but in the meantime Iāll continue with the Disney quality photos.
