Something about this whole thing feels wrong for numerous reasons. I read the message, I saw their reason, and yet this all feels too sudden.
If DC sees that we can't follow through with a boycott started only 3 days ago, they won't learn a fucking thing. For the record, I'm not mad at the DCsowhite movement, as in the people who started it.
I feel like DC saw the movement and instead of starting production on black-led comic books, they instead sent legal threats to the hosts of the movement. That's the only reason I can think of them ending it so soon.

sorry if this seems sketchy, but if you've heard of the DC blackout boycott going on, the jist is that DC refuses to make a run with an A plot black main character. the link is a petition for the cause!
that link is for more information on the subject. if you can take part in the boycott, please do!
Hey, thank you for sharing! Don't worry, I'm well kept up with the boycott and am following. I'll be posting this here as well for those who want to know more about it!
The link is safe, but if you want to search it about it yourself, feel free to do so.
Okay so I've been seeing stuff about the current dc boycott (dc blackout), and I'm gonna share where I like to get second hand comics/graphic novels. If you aren't sure what the boycotts about, I'll link the site for it here, because I can't explain for shit and don't want to mess it up. Edit: the boycott is now cancelled but the campaign is still up and you should still buy second hand (it's cheaper is nothing else)
I love buying things second hand, mostly because I don't have much money (I do pirate, but i like having physical copies as well). You don't have to do this for the boycott specifically, buying second hand is always a good choice imo. So, here's where I buy comics/graphic novels second hand:
1) World of books, this is a website that has a decent variety of books as well as graphic novels. Unsure about individual comics though. They do free shipping in the uk, which is where I am. Idk about other countries though. They also have discounts on sometimes!
2) Vinted, there's a decent variety of comics being sold on there, both individual ones and graphic novels. Pricing may not be the best depending on what you're looking for but it's still pretty good.
3) Charity shops. Its less common, but sometimes they'll have graphic novels or individual comics there.
4) Comicon stands. I'm pretty sure these are second hand, but at the last comicon I went to I was able to get some comics (Azrael 97 1-7 and Robin 91 1-5 (mini series)). The pricing was pretty good and I'll be looking at buying more when I go to my next con. Lmk if they're not second hand tho!
Places I haven't tried but have seen:
A) Ebay, I've seen some stuff there when looking for stuff online but I don't use ebay really.
B) Abe books. They have a used section on their website, but I've never bought from there before.
Really, if you search up 'second hand comic websites' or similar there's several options. Those 2 are just ones I've had a little browse on.
fully support this dc comics boycott bc yeah. it IS fucked up that they've mostly been centering white lead runs rather than give their poc characters the spotlight. i am DESPERATE for a solo duke thomas run.
but the arguments i've seen against the boycott are genuinely so stupid. "this will hurt local comic shops!!" as if the only comics they sell are dc 🤨 "but... but what about absolute green lantern??" absolute universe is NOT the mainline universe. where is this attention to poc in their main universe comic runs??
superhero/comic fans really yuck my yum because so many are WHITE men (emphasis on the white) who are misogynistic and racist chuds with hundreds of characters who fit their preferences shining in the limelight near 24/7 and yet they still feel the need to bash anything that is non-white and/or non-straight male centered.
What’s wild about DC not doing anything with their black characters is that Mister Terrific was such a standout in the Superman movie and they only had a 6 issue mini series to capitalize on it. Now there’s an upcoming Green Lanterns series so maybe with the help of the recent uproar they’ll actually do something with him.
People act like black comics don’t sale but Black Panther and Storm have been doing great over the years and I believe Miles Morales regularly outsells Peter (though with the past decade of Spider-Man comics involving Peter, that’s hardly a surprise).

They are showing girls as boobs and butts more than usual, and are being sexist with the women (and I'm not saying Marvel isn't doing this either, but wait) then they go and print this on the back of their comic books:
well girls are currently being harrassed about likeing comics and being called "impostors" by other fans (mostly boys) and then DC goes and prints this, they defientely are going to lose fans.
The boycott is mainly about promoting not to support DC in their decision on to attack the female fanbase for as long as needed.
