Ah. That’s how. Slowly. But the things she’s saying don’t make any sense. What other reason would the copy of Betty have to hold William? Even with her hands on his mangled face, she isn’t-
His face. This isn’t his face. William’s head tilts downward as his forehead is brought to hers, and he sees what passes for his body .There isn’t enough of him to tear into. Panic gives way to confusion. His breathing slows. No, this isn’t right. There was physically more of him in his security office. And no one in his security office would say the things Betty has.
But that would mean...he’s still in the basement. And that’s actually Betty. Who just saw everything.
One problem at a time. First: Distance. Even if Betty really does have no intention of harming William, touch is unpleasant on his skinless face. As carefully as he can, William disentangles himself from Betty’s grip well-intentioned attempt.
