basically it is earth being a dick lmao

she has a long-standing Beef with life over life giving up its physical form Forever in order for actual non-godly life to exist, and also over the whole godmasks thing, and only like... takes on inorganic forms because of that?? spite!!

her favourite form is like... a big ol’ rock monster that only looks very vaguely humanoid in that she’s got two legs and walks upright, and has Kind Of a humanish face?? a face made up of holes cut into the rock and glowing with the dull red heat of magma but you know. it’s not like, one lump of rock carved into a movable shape either it’s like. a bunch of rocks piled up. big rocks. rocks held together with sheer force of “fuck you if i have to have a body this is it get lost”

when she’s Particularly grumpy tho people have the distinct pleasure of literally talking to a wall. (it’s more “heart of the mountain fuck you” than wall but STILL.) it is highly, highly annoying when she does it, since to talk to her like that requires a direct mental link and she’s never heard of an indoor voice. also it’s real easy for a mountain to ignore you. there is a handful of people who can talk to her when she’s in that form, and half of those are gods

for sure!! they don’t have names still because i’m ridic but:

the lady everlasting: god of death, decay and the passage of time. considered one of the oldest gods but not really worshipped?? she always appears as a woman, and her godmask is a solid silver deathmask, which changes to be. anybody dying or dead. it’s Unsettling. she very rarely speaks, even to the other gods, which is more unsettling. Goes Away at midnight on midsummer, which is mayfly’s festival, which makes things Super Weird

the mayfly lord: god of life, growth and light. another of the oldest gods!! it came into being at the same time as everlasting, and it isn’t really worshipped either. it gave up its physical form in order to let other things live, and now it can only be a physical being by possessing living things. they usually don’t notice. Goes Away at midnight on midwinter, everlasting’s festival, which kind of goes unnoticed unless it’s actively being looked for

god of luck, chance and fate: technically the very oldest god bc without them there could be no possibility of anything?? they don’t have a godmask but they do have a physical form, which is Weird. stop that. not really worshipped except by people who Need a dose of luck, and half the time it backfires. they’re the god of luck, not Good luck. they’re a patron of healers, but it’s considered bad form to openly worship or ask them for help

god of the earth, sleep and stasis: technically she’s also the god of prophecy, but that falls under sleep. sort of. it’s fine. the grumpiest god. spends most of her time asleep, or the closest she can get. doesn’t much like sapient life?? she’s worshipped a lot by farmers in any case, and also just in general. likes to appear as a fuckin. rock. she’ll look mildly human if she has to but she won’t like it. does not like pretty much any of the other gods, but really doesn’t like sea

god of the sea, change and parenthood(??): very uh. temperamental. changeable. if there’s a spectrum of flexibility of form, she’s the midpoint. she has a few forms she likes to change between, but even those have a lot of variation. worshipped by sailors, anyone relying on water, and as the primary god by a lot of coastal places. very protective of air, really dislikes warfare and outright hates earth. likes sharks, which are sort of sacred bc of that??

god of air, freedom and childhood: outright the most optimistic and carefree god. he’s a child, and dotes on and protects every single child. can be incredibly cruel, because he’s the god of children, but he can also be an absolute angel. other than life, he’s the most changeable of any god, except that he’s always a kid?? unless he’s an animal, and then it has to be able to fly. would rather give up godhood than think one single thing through

the gods of the hunt, criminals and lawkeepers: boy that’s a contradiction. they’re twins, and almost totally identical. hunt has sharper teeth and always looks like she’s about to pounce, while hunted has small antlers and always looks like he’s about to Run. they love the chase, and that’s where they’re most??? pure??? true to Themselves. the boundary between hunter and hunted blurs when it isn’t a case of hare vs hound, and neither one is exclusively god of thieves or of detectives. they’re worshiped pretty strongly by thieves, as well as hunters and more. legitimate worshippers. hunt tends to get overly excited during their festival and chase down the poor bugger dressed as hunted, which doesn’t end well but is a good omen?? ridiculous

i DO kind of!! i don’t actually remember if i already SAID but fionn is the “i don’t have a word for this yet” chosen whatever of the god of fate and chance (and faith and healers and just a whole mess of things, choose a goddamn domain you piece of shit)

that doesn’t mean anything good for fionn it means he just has??? more luck??? both good and bad. he survives everything that happens to him but Things Keep Happening To Him
