anyway. one davrin/ghilasara and ghilasara/lucanis parallel I've been chewing on is that after returning from Tearstone Island Ghilasara realises there is blood on her armour, and it may be Davrin's (she can't even know for sure), and how is she supposed to clean it off when it's the last thing she has left of him. and she never will get anything from him ever again.
and then after Lucanis mercy-kills Ghilasara he's also literally stained with her blood, and someone (could even be Bellara. I 💙 salt in wounds) tells him he should burn his armour. because Ghilasara may not have become a ghoul, but she was very much heavily blighted. burning everything that went into contact with her blood is the sensible thing to do. but his reaction to that offer, is wait. no. but it's hers.

for the record just because I tend to say that davrin/ghilasara and bellara/ghilasara fall more into the idea of some nebulous Thing TM rather than a properly defined romantic relationship it doesn't mean that they've never made out or perhaps even fucked nasty about it
