@rejectory sent: please donât lie to me.Â
davina would puff up her chest and straighten her spine as if to seem taller, but she thinks itâd be lost on elijah. itâs tempting anyways, given how he towers over her, but she knows better than to think such tactics would carry any weight.Â
itâs a shame she doesnât see the reason it might gain klausâ recognition is because in their bones theyâre the very same animal, paranoid and filled with incredible hubris, but sheâs not so far off. klaus fears the presence of - the inevitably of - weakness, and so davina grows the backbone of a god like it were a flower in a garden (she might as well; itâs been so long since sheâs been allowed such gentle things, sheâs half certain she couldnât remember the spell if she attempted to). she makes a decision not to be weak.Â
itâs not something she can decide, but klaus will respect her for trying.Â
thatâs not the way through with elijah. he claims to value honesty, but davina canât stomach the hypocrisy of that long enough to give it to him, even if she suspects heâs not soon from unraveling the truth anyway. âwhy not? you lie all the time. everything you are is a lie.â the honorable brother charade, the suits, the calming tone of voice heâd used to cajole her when theyâd met. sheâd believed it then, and the naivete leaves a bitter taste in her mouth still.Â
