Nude (Hand to Forehead), David Storey
This painting is one of a series of nudes Iâve made. My paintings generally are an exploration of memory. They offer glimpsed or half-remembered figures and faces â 're-imagined ancestors' recovered from a personal archive of the forgotten. I like to feel that they are physiologically charged and that the image âstaysâ with the viewer. It's on a good thick canvas so no need for framing. Signed on the front.

Visual landscapes of movement come to life in David Storeyâs newly installed artwork âSea City Spinâ (2019) at the 20 Av (N/W) station on the Sea Beach Line in Brooklyn. Inspired by the constant change of perspective experienced while on the subway and platforms, Storey created a series of abstract vignettes that weave together references to backyard windows and sidewalk market displays, juxtaposing nature with the urban environment. Fabricated by Mosaika Art & Design, the fourteen brightly colored glass mosaic panels echo a sensory feeling of motion and sequential transition, distilling the essence of the distinctive qualities of riding the Sea Beach Line in Brooklyn.

'Forest Figures', David Storey
This painting was inspired by watching some young people climbing trees at dusk, they appeared to be hit by a sort of ethereal light. My paintings generally are an exploration of memory. They offer glimpsed or half-remembered figures and faces â 're-imagined ancestors' recovered from a personal archive of the forgotten. I like to feel that they are physiologically charged and that the image âstaysâ with the viewer. Signed on the front.
