It’d been a while since Manny had been sent out on a solo mission. Well, mostly solo, anyway. He was being sent out ahead to apprehend a Metahuman threat in town that was terrorizing civilians and back up would catch up about twenty minutes after if assistance would be necessary. C.A.R.M.A seemed to believe that his skills and abilities would be enough to do the job on his own, and they weren’t exactly wrong––sometimes being a psionic of many talents got assignments done quickly. Sometimes. 

The blond agent arrived on scene after parking his car in a safe area. He took a moment to observe what was going on, and then cleared his throat before announcing himself. “I’d suggest you might want to stop what you’re doing there,” he spoke up to the other man, pulling out his C.A.R.M.A badge and holding it up for the other to see. “I mean you can keep doing what you’re doing, but either way, I’m going to have to bring you in. It can go down the hard way or the easy way...your choice.” 

     The more time that Cyrus spent with David, the more he felt like he was centered and focused again. He was able to open up to him with ease and he didn’t feel like he was disappointing him. It was hard to disappoint someone who was on your level of ‘absolute terrible human being’. After the whole ‘dreamscape reality’ thing it was nice to be hanging out with him again. Oddly enough. 

     So there they were, at a new vegan place that Cyrus had found. He was surprised by all the food variety that David was willing to try, especially since Cy was vegan so their options when did they go out were somewhat limited. They were just talking, not exactly discreetly about cult and murder. It was a vegan place though, it’s not like anyone around them was really listening to their conversation after all. 

     As their food came out, Cy noticed someone was creeping out of the corner of his eye and he frowned, hoping that it wasn’t anyone spying on them. He really didn’t need to get in trouble. He was just there to eat his vegan mac and cheese and talk with David about weird life things. Weird, kind of murdery life things. But still, weird life things.

Five days. Cyrus had officially spent five days in the Nephilim house and he was... Unsure how he felt about all of them. Or their whole ‘thing’ either. It seemed a little... Goofy almost? Like a bunch of rich kids who banded together because they felt like they needed a reason to be mad at society. Though Cyrus would never actually say that to his sisters face. He liked Jaden a lot. And, contrary to all the existentialist crap he posted on the internet, he really liked living too. It didn’t help that whenever he seemed to leave the Nephilim house, people knew that he was Cyrus Harkness, the brother of questionably sane Jaden Harkness. So he went out drinking a lot, he found the root of why he had gone out drinking a lot as soon as he got to Pansaw. It was because of his crazy family.

He had already taken a habit of keeping his hood up while he was getting coffee and food while he was out and about in Pansaw, hoping the murmurs would die down soon. Cyrus had been out grabbing a large iced caramel drink filled to the top with espresso and caramel and vanilla flavored syrup when he almost spilled the whole thing on a rather intimidating looking man. “I uh-- fuck, sorry about that, I’m kind of lost in my own head today,” he chuckled weakly, giving the man an apologetic smile. “But hey! Here’s a plus. None of it got on you so... I didn’t ruin your clothes with caramel and espresso at least.”
