Before we launch into all the good stuff, I think we should have a small chat about exactly what a sports town is and what the concept is. You see, I love sports and with the continuous transition between sports and seasons it had me thinking about what it takes to be a great sports town. I figure it would be fun to dive into this so, let’s go!

First off, what is a “sports town?” An example of a great sports town would be if, let’s say the city where you currently live had a sports game and almost all, or close to it, of the population of the city were to show up and it was a good turnout. The crowd was cheering and very enthusiastic. Now, that would be considered a great sports town. Told you, easy to understand.

An Introduction To Some of The Best Sports Towns and Why

Now that you know the concept of what makes a sports town, I think we can move onto the good stuff. Although we still have a fair amount to cover in this blog post, I figured we would kick things off with making a small introduction to the best sports towns and what makes them great.

Boston: Boston is right now one of the top sports towns. Boston is one of the premier sports cities in the country and, if you’re going to choose one sports town that’s the best, it’s Boston. Although Boston doesn’t have a perfect score, it comes pretty close. With more teams, affordable games, a forgiving media, and much more exceptional qualities, it’s easy to see why this city takes the lead with sports towns.

Los Angeles: The next sports town we’ve got for you in the ranking is LA. Although I can’t say that it ranks number one, it’s pretty high up there. Regardless of what you’re looking for, the beautiful city of LA will be there for you. With beautiful hills to look at while you watch your favorite sports team play, it’s easy to see why people fall in love with sports there.

Philadelphia: Although this certainly isn’t the best sports town and, in all honesty, doesn’t cut close to Boston, it still ranks pretty high. Philadelphia is a great sports town and, if you’re into sports, certainly is somewhere that you’ll enjoy.
