#so FASCINATINGLY Aronson was well known for his appropriation of Christian images and iconography#and like everyone was annoyed at him for it … and bloom also painted a lot of Christmas trees as well#and I think there’s such an interesting tension in those kinds of impulses (that I share)#and it very much comes from looking & learning at almost exclusively Christian artwork in the art historical canon#and having to wrestle with history#boston museum of fine arts#Boston mfa#Boston expressionism#David Aronson
