More than one in six people are struggling to afford their broadband during the third lockdown, Citizens Advice has found.
Already in 2011 Michele Vianello, at the time Deputy Mayor of Venice, argued that "building a WIFI network in a municipality is not dissimilar to building a nursery or kindergarten".
Access to broadband, compared by Vianello as a universal right of citizenship, explains well on which axes it can and should evolve and is not very different from the right to healthy nutrition for public school children. Also, because if the city increasingly moves its services to digital and if data, in the same way, can be the basis for measures and effectiveness of our interventions, it is strategic as well as socially essential to enable access to the band and therefore to services and in the same way to feedback systems from citizens.
The free network access to longevity services proposed by Dr. Vianello is not a socialist utopia, it is a prerequisite for the health of the population, it is an intelligent model to develop an economy where the volume of transactions, the well-being of society and the optimization of that well-being through data are part of the same model

Asthma is greatly influenced by where someone lives. People who have affordable and accessible health care, clean air, and economic stability have a greater chance of managing and controlling their asthma. AAFAβs Asthma Capitalsβ’ Report ranks the largest 100 cities in the continental U.S. by how challenging they are to live in when you have asthma. AAFA publishes this report to show the nationwide burden of asthma. It is a call to action to help the 25 million people in the U.S. with asthma.
Something can be done to better understand "how we are doing, where": a smart stethoscope is a good example of how connected devices can help us self-assess as early as possible the status and risk of asthma in children.
Designed for parents StethoMe detects abnormal sounds in the children's respiratory system.
Can AI help owners track, train and βsocializeβ their dog?
WonderWoof is a new iOS app - joining the myriad of other such apps - aimed at dog-owners. This one helps dog owners track, train and 'socia
We are big animal lovers at City of Longevity and WonderWoof Is An App And Device That Tracks A Dogβs Training And Health. Owners stay connected to their dogs via an on-collar βbow-tieβ which is a connected device.
The device is a tracker and pedometer for the dog and connects to the owners' app, but the app can also be used on its own, like Facebook for dogs.

Gathering citizens' health and behaviors in a more natural way: future wearables for the quantified selves.
The team at MIT conducted a test with volunteers who wore the stickers on body parts including the arm, abdomen, chest, and neck. Researchers say the patches provided clear images for up to 48 hours and held up to real-life activities including biking, jogging, and weightlifting⦠all of which were performed by the volunteers at a lab.
The entire device measures around 2 square centimeters across, with a thickness of 3 millimeters. The base has a layer of solid hydrogel sandwiched between two thin layers of elastomer, which keep the middle layer from dehydrating.Β
MIT researchers are working on a way to make this data transfer wireless, thus turning the device into a true wearable that could be offered by healthcare providers or even sold over the counter at pharmacies making investigatory procedures like this available and accessible for everyone.
A city of longevity should achieve less need for medical centers, transfer to get there, and consequently pollution. An example of how AI can learn your breathing patterns and assess Parkinson's Disease at home.
A new device can detect Parkinson's disease just from breathing patterns. The device, developed by a team led by Dina Katabi of MIT, em
MIT researchers demonstrated that the artificial intelligence assessment of Parkinson's can be done every night at home while the person is asleep and without touching their body.
To do so, the team developed a device with the appearance of a home Wi-Fi router, but instead of providing internet access, the device emits radio signals, analyzes their reflections off the surrounding environment, and extracts the subjectβs breathing patterns without any bodily contact.
The breathing signal is then fed to the neural network to assess Parkinsonβs in a passive manner, and there is zero effort needed from the patient and caregiver.
Technology like this is an ideal example of what we define as the Internet of Caring Things allowing carers to care about sufferers without using cerebrospinal fluid and neuroimaging, which are invasive, costly, and require access to specialised medical centers, making them unsuitable for frequent testing that could otherwise provide early diagnosis or continuous tracking of disease progression.
