Datamaps.co is a free and simple platform for creating visualizations with data maps. It allows you to upload CSV file with region data, and fully customize your map's appearance. Your Map can be saved as PNG or SVG. With datamaps.co, you can create a custom map of World, USA, China, Canada and more are coming.
DataMaps needed a grunt task to convert GeoJSON data into TopoJSON, so I whipped up this Grunt plugin to handle the task.
Source code available here.
DataMaps now let's you specify a 'centered' property for each bubble, which will position a bubble in the geographic center of a state or country. For example:
map.bubbles([ {centered: 'TX', radius: 10}, {centered: 'NY', radius: 5} ]);
Chropleths have always fascinated me since they allow one to visualize trends in spatial data. This post is a short demonstration on how to create interactive, animated choropleths using rMaps, DataMaps and AngularJSAn.... - @ramnath_vaidya
@ramnath_vaidya has been doing awesome work by combining R and DataMaps. rMaps only needs a few lines of R, and you can make these awesome animated choropleths.

TROP BIEN. <3
Every Noise at Once, par glenn mcdonald : une carte interactive des genres musicaux.
"This is an algorithmically-generated non-analytical map of the musical genre-space. Genres and artists are positioned by code and data, adjusted for legibility, but the underlying vectors are less interesting than the juxtapositions and clusters that they produce, so the axes have been deliberately left unlabeled and uncalibrated. You are invited to imagine your own qualities and magnitudes that the geometry might be expressing".
Tu cliques sur le genre et tu écoutes un exemple de chanson, puis sur la petite flèche << et ça t'amène sur une carte des groupes du genre.
Un petit exemple avec la page shoegaze :
In the spirit of the well-circulated Facebook friendship map by Paul Butler, research analyst Olivier Beauchesne at Science-Metrix examines scientific collaboration around the world from 2005 to 2009
