Dash hated his life. He was bullied constantly, day in and day out, all because he was mute, and couldn't speak to those around him- not even his parents. He had learned to communicate with them through sign language, but even then, he felt like he was burden to them. The only place where Dash felt accepted, loved, or even needed was in his dreams. He kept having this one person, whom he had never seen before, appear night after night. It wasn't the same dream, or even same situations. Everything was always different, except this mysterious boy. Dash didn't know his name, not yet, but tonight in his dream, he was bound and determined to speak to him for the first time.
Tonight, he was at some park, swinging on the swing set when he saw the male approach and take the swing next to him. Dash looked at him, then looked away, hanging his head as he continued to swing, feet still on the ground. The other male was humming some tune or another. It was so familiar to Dash, but he couldn't place his finger on it. After a minute of it driving him crazy that he couldn't figure it out, Dash gathered up the courage to try to talk to the other boy. He had never spoken in his dreams before, but he hoped that he could. "Erm... what song is that? It's so familiar, but I can't figure out what it's called." Dash's heart started racing, a huge smile on his face. He could talk!
