Walked into class yesterday and saw this next to the tray of acupuncture needles and supplies. Everyone in class was like 🤨🤨🤨
I just think it's funny because the last thing you'd want to see when you go into an acupuncture appointment is a large hammer right next to the needles 😂😂😂 like are you going to be hammering those in?? 😂🤣
I've been absolutely tickled by this since yesterday haha. But anywho, it's actually a Japanese technique called Dashin! You are placing the wooden rod on the patient's body, and lightly and rhythmically tapping the end of it with the hammer.
It is very gentle, and actually feels very good, similar to a massage technique. It's used as a method of dispersing qi, and also to relax muscles.
Hope everyone has a great day!
