she had been famous since she was one years old, practically born into this life, but it still was something she’d never get used to, especially after spending the past eleven years out of the spotlight. but she was doing it on her terms now, barely entertaining interviews on red carpets and simply offering a few soft smiles before heading into an event. as she waved her goodbyes to the swarms of cameras that were on the other side of the velvet rope, she couldn’t help but sigh when she saw darla being bombarded with questions. she had been in that position not too long ago and if there was any wisdom that she wanted to pass on to those younger than her, it was that they were the ones in control, not anyone else. slowly making her way over to her, she gently grabbed the girl’s elbow, giving a brief “that will be all” to all of the inteviewers that were shouting at her, before linking her arm with hers, walking alongside her into the event. “don’t listen to what your publicist says. you don’t have to answer anything if you don’t want to. you hold the power here, not them.”
