Birthday weekend
My first time celebrating in Japan. I turned 23 on the 11th. Can't say I feel any different other than this one thought that crossed my mind: What did I accomplish while I was 22? Hmmm I can't say much actually. I was still trying to find myself. Last year around this time I was super depresses about leaving Japan after the earthquake. I think my birthday fell on some random weekday and being this time of year everyone was just finishing finals or preparing to leave dorms thus, the few friends I do still have left near NY couldn't come and hang. It's usually like that. All through elementary school to high school my birthday is around the start of finals, or the school recital. Or the best one.. Lands on Mothers day. You can imagine how many people can actually come and celebrate when it's that day lol. Other than one or 2 party's at the Discovery Zone (the BEST FUCKING PLACE EVER!!!!) I don't really remember doing much for my birthday ever because of the factors listed above. This year I wanted it to be different. I wanted to actually celebrate with people I was cool with and not complete random strangers. I appreciate a friends effort last year but when he brought all these random girls it wasn't really about my birthday and what I wanted to do. Awkward lol. The night before my birthday I went out to eat with friends and we counted down to midnight. It was nice when the staff of the restaurant sang happy birthday for me. Especially the cute waiter... He can serve me any day (^_β)ββ My birthday I had work at the new job really late but I was able to meet my friends during a list minute practice for the show on Sunday. I knew it was all about partying at the show so it was ok. Saturday was really just last min preparations for the show. I had a lot of technical difficulties so I couldn't really help with special effects and animation like I wanted to. ( really need to get a new Mac) you can imagine that my other band mates and I hardly slept that night. Sunday was the big show. It was SOOOO much fun! My Afro mad its famous appearance and gezz its gotten so big!! We actually had a lot of technical difficulties but in the end it's all about the stage presence and music which was great. You could tell the audience was really enjoying themselves. Afterwards I did get a little tipsy but hey.. I deserved it! We then met up with some more friends who came to the show for some ShabuShabu! I haven't had that in almost a year. It was so much fun! A lot of my new Japanese friends couldnt keep their hands off my Afro lol. To actually be with people I knew and was chill with. We all had a great time. I'm pretty satisfied with this celebration. Maybe next year it will be even bigger. My birthday is gonna be on a Saturday. Uh oh lol
Yesterday we had our 2nd show!! It was a lot of fun. This time it was in ShinOkubo so it was easier to invite people. Of course there were a lot of last min cancellations but Im glad some of my friends were able to come and support. Everyone seemed to love our costumes and the show. We had some interesting visuals and effects. Some people showed up that I didn't expect as well like one of my old students. For those interested, our next show is March 28th in Shibuya at WOMB. I hope my friends can come to this one too. Might be harder because it's a weekday and people still have classes but trust it will be a fun show~

A lot has been going through my mind the past week. It might be because of all he negative news and things going on around me all at once. It was/is super stressful but it's just one of those trails in life I have to go through. I'm writing this post as I'm sitting in (the evil realm that is) immigration. Waiting to put in the visa application that I've been stressing over the last few weeks. Hopefully there will be no problems and I can get everything sorted out soon. Once the visa comes in I can apply for other jobs. One major thing that has been stressing me is the singing. People say they like my voice but honestly I have no idea where do go from there. Who do I send my demos to? Where do I apply? How does this business work here? And remember I can't speak Japanese so it makes this even more difficult. I actually didn't know who else to go to and that's when I made a call to someone. Someone who I thought would be too busy to answer the phone. Of course he didn't but what shocked me was that he actually called back. 'twas super nice of him to actually help even of was just a little. Hopefully this push will be a good start. I also got to attend some shows this weekend. I rather not go into details because honestly it involved too much running and I was super upset at a certain producer dude... But thanks to him I did get to see 2NE1 in person. I'm pretty sure they noticed me when I walked pasted CL in he hall and in the audience. Ya know, considering I was the only non-Asian person there and my nappy hair sticks out lol. Hopefully one day I can see them perform a MUCH LONGER set. I also saw HomeMade Kazoku again. This would make it my 10th time seeing them. Gosh that number is scary but honestly their shows are so much fun and very entertaining. Always inspiring honestly and I grow to like them more each time I see them. Haha I guess I'm officially a fan! This is now on me. I was super down a few days ago but now I just have to try and keep my head up. The show taught me that. Must keep going!!
Things have been kind of slow for me as of late. Haven been getting the work that I was supposed to get so it seems like I'm still going to be behind. I know there is a job waiting for me, but they won't let me interview until my visa statues changes. I hope my visa sponsor hops to it soon because it does in fact expire at the end of this month. My friend told me that he's in the middle of the paper work so hopefully it will be ready by the end of next week. I hope so! Another friend told me about this new job and from what I know the pay seems pretty good and I get to sing Disney songs! My favorite past time~ I've also been trying to work on original music. It's really hard because I dont know where to start. Lucky Producer Dude is helping me out. I was pretty upset at him last weekend because he stood me up but he did apologize and I realize he's done more good for me than I realized. But after that I'm definitely over him. I really hope next week I see more progress. I don't want things to be slow anymore!!
I feel so blehhhh
Haha. I mean in the significant other department as in my non existent love life. I think I wrote before about 3 potentials but now it's all bleh. I kind of regret confessing to Producer dude. Why? Because for a while now I haven't been crushing him. I don't even get that tingly feeling when he talks to me on the phone anymore. Oh well. Pushed to the friends section. I think after I confessed a weight was lifted off my shoulders + at the time I was intoxicated.... Blehhh Dancer boy#1 has been canceling and rescheduling all over the place, that is, when I remind him to. Haven't seen him since I left for Korea. Isn't that sad? I still think he's cool but with him dancing all over the place I don't know when we will ever find the time to hang out. And Dancer boy #2, yeah I gave up on that fast. After New Years I realized that it's better to stay as friends. I doubt he would have ever been interested in me at all and I guess that's ok. But I'm tired of always initiating these things and never getting responses till days later. This goes for all the guys listed. Seriously I won't get a text back for a week. Or the day of... It's pretty crazy. Sooo Blehhhhhhhhh
