Being the newest outcast at a prestigious high school didnāt seem as bad as shitty ABC Family movies made it seemĀ -Ā then again, Jonas was one to let things roll right off of his back. And this was especially made easy with his newfound friendship with Rachel Amber, who he found himself texting more often than he had initially expected. Jonas cherished his friendships but found them more difficult to maintain ever since he moved, for what was now the second time. In all honesty, his connection with Rachel was an accident: he normally had no time for popular girls, thinking the drama was a waste of time. At least when it came to Victoria Chase.
Jonas didnāt mind the lack of friendships, really. It was early in the semester, they would come eventually, and he liked to explore new areas by himself. It was dangerous in retrospect, but heās pretty sure he could take any of these small town hicks if they tried him. A whole day of walking around another town, since he was already finding himself sick of Arcadia Bay, was mostly successful. And a quick Google search of places that were still open this late at night found him in a little coffee shop, awkwardly standing in line waiting for his hot chai and scone. Itās a bit uncharacteristic of him, he was never one to indulge in something like this, but it felt right, especially with the autumn weather turning into winter.
He doesnāt even notice Rachel until he receives his things. Itās when heās awkwardly standing there, trying to figure out where to sit, when his eyes land on her. His face breaks into a little smile, and he beelines towards her, placing his things down on top of the table sheās doing her work on, pausing before speaking so he can take a sip of the chai. Lips curl into a smile around the mug, and he looks down at her.Ā Ā āI canāt get rid of you it seems,āĀ Jonas chuckles, taking his seat across from Rachel.Ā
