Darkest corners
It skulks in darkest corners
I haven't blinked in days.
I must turn on the lights
But the switches work nay.
The TV powers on
Panicked pixels on the screen.
The static barks at me
Don't look back, just flee.
From the ceiling it takes form
Its fall shatters the machine.
Its image, caustic in my skull
My spine alone commands my feet.
I trip and fall on soft floor
Warm bed, but I sleep no more.
From darkest corners, here for me
In darker corners I'll soon be.
