UNDERNEATH THE PRIDE
Yandere ! Dark Lion King family X scar
Chapter 8 :
The brightly dimmed Pride Rock is currently filled with Lions of several pact, all awaiting the king to arrive. Among the Lionesses Nala stands right next to her mother and the queen.
Simba and Mufasa walk between the group of Lions and Lionesses as they part. Simba was the mirroring image of Mufasa. His Mane had become blommer and more brilliant. That golden brown fur flustered in the sun and he shone – like light itself.
Yet his eyes like his father had gone dull and dark. He had earned himself a hurtful reputation. He'd become more violent and more brutal. When any subject complained to the King, they would be punished instead. Mufasa didn't care.
Sarabi had long since stopped trying to make sense to them. She hadn't spoken for years. Nala could barely remember her voice, the Queen's old self. Her smile hid no contempt and it was vile and grail.
Scar
No, that's not his name
The King's brother – Taka – she finally knew his name. He was loved and would still be loved. As the King cleared his throat with a Roar, all subjects straightened.
Zazu began : “ The ceremony for the honouring of the king shall now begin ! Everyone stand and be proud as our new King comes and bears the great throne of Pride Rock and Savannah.”
Simba stepped forward and bent his head down. Rafiki came forward and placed the crowning dust on the new King’s forehead. “ Now I pronounce you king.” He chuckled, “ King Simba is here !” looking at the little cub that had grown , Still Simba's eyes remained full and he simply nodded and Roared.
And All the animals cheered.
While the Lions and the Lioness roared.
As the cheering died down and the animals slowly left, all while the Pride and the other Lions remained. Mufasa's eyes turned sharply to them and a smile Nala knew was fake overtook his face.
His eyes were sharp – no longer livelier and willful but rather waiting for death. He approached the Lions waiting and Simba followed.
“ Congratulations King Simba.” One of the Lions bowed and greeted. “ We're looking forward to working together.” Another said.
Simba and Mufasa eye maid contact and they both conversed secretly. Mufasa smiled. “ Yes- my son has made me proud.” He remarked, “ We can finally establish peace in Savannah with this pact.”
Simba added, “ This peace is what Savannah has been waiting for….” he looked at rafiki.and the bamboo stepped forward, “ Peace and change vast yet slipping.” he said before jumping at a branch of the tree and leaving.
The conversation continued among the Lions and Nala took this chance to excuse herself and go somewhere else. She leaped across the grassy meadows and ran.
Once she finally arrived at her secret spot, she took a breath of relief. “ Kiara !” She called. The young cub's head turned towards her and it morphed into pure happiness. The little female cub jumped onto her and both of them were laughing in the soft grass.
Nala slowly got up with the smiling cub and the two bent down and sat. Kiara turned to her, her eyes now sad as she sighed. “ How'd it go ?”
Nala looked at her and licked the little cub's face. “ It went fine. Simba didn't even try to kill someone…for once.” She continued setting her face down to the grass. “ They're planning something and I don't know why but it scares me.”
“ Do-you…think…it's that ?”
Nala shakes her head, “ I've got no clue, Kiara. Simba and the previous King Mufasa had been planning this for who knows how long. They say it's for peace but their eyes- their eyes… they tell a whole different tale.”
She shuddered.
Kiara licked her eyes and smiled softly. “ Maybe this is for the best. You know…I've never known my brother and mother, father without that sad look in their eyes. If they can get revenge or at least take it out on someone… things will get better.”
“ For us all and Savannah-” her eyes trailed to the back and her breath hitched in the middle. “ Na-nala !! Get up. There's someone coming this way !” Kiara’s face was as pale as a ghost.
Nala got up and turned around, her eyes narrowed and she froze when a familiar fur came to view. “ It couldn't be…”
As the figure came closer and closer, it became clearer, she had been mistaken. This was not Scar.
Just a little cub.
A cub with painful resemblance to the old Lion.
The cub came up to them and greeted them. His face was shy, his ears bent down as his tail wailed. He looked up and met their crooked and shocked eyes.
“ Hi…”
Nala snapped out of her thoughts when Kiara's claws pressed on her foot. She didn't even know what she said at that moment. But she did.
“ Who are you?”
The little cub froze at her authoritative tone. If he couldn't even handle this how would this cub handle Simba's threatening gaze or even the older Lion’s.
“ Kovu...is my name.” He spoke, his head bent down. “ I come from the outlands and seek refuge here.”
Nala scanned him up and down. Her eyes flickered to the younger Kiara who seemed to think he was to be deemed a threat or not. Kiara’s eyes met her and they shone brightly.
Oh
Nala smirked.
Guess we'll have to then.
“ And why do you think you would be given that ? You've come here unannounced and barging in this territory is a considerable death sentence for all those except few." The little cub's shocking face is priceless.
She might just start understanding why Simba likes to play little mind games with the weak. Kiara shook her head and agreed at every lie Nala spoke from her mouth.
The little cub's mind seemed to jiggling the pieces and the way his brows furrowed, made Nala remember a painful yet loving memory.
“ Ughh.” Scar fell on the grass exhausted, looking at her laughing. His eyes looked tired yet still playful when he threw a sarcastic remark. “ Did Simba put you up for this ?” He continued with a sly smile.
Simba shaked his head and grinned. “ Nope ! She did it all by herself.”
“ Nala, my dear, I thought I was your favorite .” he said with a pout. Nala remembered laughing even louder all while she and Simba had surrounded Scar.
She giggled , “ Oh you are ! But you need some training. Your stamina is so low.” Scar grunted in response and threw them both closer with his paws hugging them in his embrace.
“ You both love to nag me far too much.” He groaned ruffling their fur. “ Let that job stay with that annoying and overly worried brother of mine.”
Simba and she laughed while Sarabi entered the cave. She greeted him with a lick to his face that made his face flush and furrow. He gave her an unamused look but backed away as her smile shone.
He irritably rubbed his head with hers and allowed Sarabi to lick him more. And Sarabi did as she always had, like an elder sister doting on her brother.
Nala truly loved that grumbling yet loving Lion.
“ N…Na…Nala !” Her consciousness returned. She shook her head and gained back her momentum. Kiara's face downed with worry and even the intruder cub looked concerned.
She sharpened her eyes and looked at him. “ The new King shall deal with you. Follow along.” She said walking away but he jumped in front of her, shocking her and even Kiara.
“ Does that mean the King isn't Mufasa ?”
Nala quickly got on guard and growled at him. This time more threatening and with full intent to hurt.
“ You said you were an outsider–So HoW do YoU KnOw our previous King's NAME ?” She took at her claws, ready to deal with him if necessary.
It wouldn't matter if he resembled that beloved Lion. He wasn't him and she wouldn't let herself be let blind. Kiara had taken out her claws too and her eyes were looking at him like a prey.
He took a step back and the sweat fell from his face. “ Another Lion told me about him !! That's why I knew.” He said, trying to explain.
But they wouldn't budge. Kiara hissed, “ Who.”
He shaked his head immediately. “ I don't know his name.”
She took her claws out and brought the cub's face closer to her teeth. “ Awfully convenient , No ?” The claws bore into his face’s skin and drew blood.
The cub hissed in pain but stood still in her hold. His eyes didn't waiver.
“ Y-Your king… he said your king would be merciful and let me in this pride. He said King Mufasa never turned away any stray ! ”
Nala’s claws went in and she threw the cub’s body in the air. He grunted as his body recoiled with the grassy yet hard ground. Kiara leaped right next to him and held his body in place with the ground all while Nala began to think.
Nala’s mind roamed and roamed, as she continued to think who it could be.Not many outsiders knew of their King's exotic rule. So it was worrying and deeply conventional of who it could be.
Who could've guided him ?
Kiara took this moment to step forward and let the cub breathe. She nugged nala’s tail and looked at her.
“ Let's take him to Father. It's better if he dealt with this one.” Glaring at the cub who nervously fidgeted she shouted. “ Prepare yourself to be judged, outsider !” She scowled.
Kovu reluctantly and nervously followed them back – the blood following down his face as a scar formed near his cheeks. He hoped Scar was right about this King’s mercy.
TBC…
A/n : Might've been a bit cruel to Kovu but Nala and Kiara didn't even scratch what I've got planned for Simba nd Mufasa. They're going to be ever crueler. So spoilers alert grab some tissues-ᄒᴥᄒ-But Scar's fate is far worse.
