Millions of entities inhabit between the layers of our reality. These beings can't be seen in plain sight, but they exist, and the harm they are able to cause is beyond any person's comprehension.

'Diorju' is the name given to one of them. It is an atrocious entity that causes an unbearable torment to the unfortunates who happen to cross its way.

But this monster used to be different, it used to be a man, a man who lost everything that was sacred to him. Blinded by rage, he let his mind and soul be controlled by dark energies, and the harm he caused being alive was immense.

I guess many fans of both franchises or only sonic's may have noticed the similarity with the game mechanics and bosses but I think that it's not only in the sotc chapter but all the backwards trilogy that sonic has this "dimensional parallel" probably it's a canon event for different franchises to have the dark entity which I believe having an hive mind.
