Hanged By Love.
concept art i made back in 2019.
I realized that when talking about “Dark concepts” you have to differentiate between thematically dark and aesthetically dark. Of course, there are plenty of concepts that are thematically and aesthetically dark, but there are also plenty that are only one or the other.
The currently popular black leather concept can be called dark if you’re talking about aesthetics, but most of the time, the themes really aren’t that dark. They may sound angry or be sexy, but that tends to be it. (See Monsta X and NCT for examples.)
Meanwhile, a song and music video could have darker themes, but be brightly colored and have them wearing not typically “scary” clothing, and people will debate whether it’s a dark concept. The best examples I can think of here are Dynamite by VIXX (lots of brightly colored lights clothes, and chalk bombs, themes of jealousy, possessiveness, and mad love) and Can’t You See Me? by TXT (mostly casual clothes and natural lighting with the exception of some red light and firelight scenes, plenty of fun and playful parts juxtaposed with lots of symbolic blood and violence, unsettling focus on fire, and themes of betrayal, distrust, and abandonment).
I think this is why I see a lot of people saying that K-pop is flooded with dark concepts, while feel like I can’t find enough of them. They’re talking about aesthetically dark concepts, which are all the rage right now, while I’m looking for thematically dark concepts.
🚨 Monsters of "Link's Crosses Multiverse" Sneak Peek! 🚨
I've been working on something really exciting for my comic, Link's Crosses Multiverse—the monsters! So far, I've designed 6 out of the 10 unique monsters for the series, and I'm thrilled to show them off! Each creature is crafted with its own twisted backstory and special powers, creating unique challenges for Link in the multiverse.
Here's where I need YOUR help: Which one would you like to see first?
Skinwalker
Jersey Devil
Wendigo
Chimamire no chō
Emberwraith Siraphim: the Siren Phonatrax
Direhusk, the Abyssal Howler
a pattern/piece i did last year. took me like 2 days to fill in the squiggly stuff xD

⚠️Info about the Comic⚠️
Just wanting to tell you that I am going to work on an animation, a little one so as long as I am working on that. I won't be working on the comic.
But this animation will be about one character from the comic.
You can try and guess 😏
