#dark bard

1. [Dark Bard] Mortals live to be enthralled, serve, and die. What greater form of entertainment is there?

now with the bard i play in my current campaign (hiroto the kitsune bard) whilst he does use a mandolin as his physical instrument he mainly uses illusions.

so to take full advantage of the illusions i made my character make sheet music and plays infused with fae magic with various names that give hint to their effects.

all of these are carried in his inventory and take an action to equip and use.

example for the music: song of the sleepy (forces those who use it to take a long rest aka sleep), song of mending hearts (healing song please see healing word for dice), song of the reinforcing mountain (see enhanced ability effect), song of bleeding hearts and song of the dark chain (mind domination). (bonus song of invisible hands causes nearby objects to attack your enemy very effective with tavern brawler)

song of bleeding hearts effect is that it acts like vicious mockery except it goes by your bard level so if you’re a level 5 bard you can perform this song like it’s level 5 vicious mockery just be sure your party has ear protection.

example for plays: play of the abandoned (cause enemy to run away), play of the berserker (cause viewers to go into a blind rage and attack everyone around them including allies), play of the mad king (causes all who view it to commit toaster bath) and play of the bustling city (causes viewers to believe they are in a crowded city and cannot see you)

with usage of spells like minor illusion, shatter, major image and hallucinatory terrain if your DM allows it i feel like this sort of bard a force to be reckoned with if your DM likes the idea of a evil/morally grey bard. (plays for big groups of enemy and songs for smaller groups of enemy)
