Something short and amusing, because Nero wouldn't resist so neither could I. Featuring a couple of screenshots.

WoLNero 232 words Traveling through Shaaloani, Nero feels the need to remark on the landscape.

“I must say, that is one beautiful butte I see in the distance.”

Severia’s head whipped around. Somehow he had fallen behind. Deliberately, most likely. And now he watched her from several yalms back, smirk affixed firmly to his face. “Nero,” she said in a warning voice. 

“Yes, my love?” he responded, trying to look innocent, but failing miserably. “Have I said something strange?”

She sighed, turned her back on him again and proceeded along their course. But she didn’t get far before the next outburst.

“Seven Hells, that is a cute butte.”

Severia froze and spun around again, her tail going rigid. “Nero!” 

“What? Can’t a man admire a rock formation when it pleases him?”

“So you’re talking about that isolated rock hill with the steep sides? Is that it?” She indicated the tall butte they were headed roughly in the direction of. 

“Absolutely. A fine example of, er, geology.”

“I see. And what do you think of that one?” Severia pointed in the opposite direction.

“What one?”

“Right there. Behind Erenville.” 

Nero squinted. “It’s all right.”

“I knew it!”

“Am I not allowed to prefer some buttes above all others?” Nero asked in a mock hurt tone. 

“You just can’t resist the chance to make a pun!”

“Darling, I assure you, it’s your butte I can’t resist.”

Severia blushed angrily. “Try.”

Erenville rolled his eyes. “Are you two finished yet?”
