Newcastle United’s prospective new owners will look to bin fan favourite Andy Carroll after the takeover in the northeast is completed, former Leeds United and Manchester City defender Danny Mills has told Football Insider. He suggested that the incoming owners will not offer the 31-year-old a new deal due to question marks over his fitness. The striker’s current pay-as-you-play deal will expire on 30 June but he may be in line for a short-term contract after the Premier League unanimously agreed players’ contracts could be extended until the end of the season due to the situation with the global pandemic. However, Mills claims the incoming owners will not hand the former England international a new deal ahead of next year, saying: “I suggest the reason he has not played that much is because he is on a pay-as-you-play deal. He has only had a couple of half games. “The new owners have come in and I would suggest the new owners will come in and take a realistic approach to it. They will know that he is a fans’ favourite but he has no played enough football. It is as simple as that. I assume they will say, ‘thank you very much but we are now looking for the next level of quality.’ They will want players that are fit and ready to play.” Indeed, Carroll has managed to play the full 90 minutes in just three games so far this campaign, making 14 appearances in all competitions and providing four assists, according to Transfermarkt. Based on this, one could argue that he would not be a huge loss to the club, especially after the proposed takeover when buying a shiny new striker may be more attainable. However, Carroll is arguably still a fans’ favourite, having scored 33 goals and made 25 assists in 105 games in all competitions for the Tyneside club, as per Transfermarkt. Whether this would be enough to persuade the Saudi-led consortium to keep him is another question, but Mills certainly believes that it might time to wave goodbye to Carroll again. Nevertheless, if it means a new goal machine comes in for the Magpies, then losing him may soon be forgotten by some members of the Toon faithful. Geordies, do you think Carroll will be sold if there is a squad overhaul after the prospective takeover is completed? Comment below with your views! Manchester United face Premier League leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford (Picture: Getty)Martin Keown has named his Manchester United and Liverpool combined XI after Jurgen Klopp took aim at Danny Mills’ selections. Former Manchester City and England star Mills did not pick a single Manchester United player in his XI and Klopp angrily said: ‘It’s a joke. ‘When Sky made a combined line-up of 11 Liverpool payers, it’s building a banana skin. ‘At the moment the world is a circus and we are in the centre. I am aware of the strength of the Manchester United.’ Arsenal legend Keown, meanwhile, named just one Manchester United player – England defender Harry Maguire – in his combined team. He told the Daily Mail: ‘Of the United players available on Sunday, only Harry Maguire makes my combined XI. Keown's Man Utd and Liverpool combined XI Goalkeeper: Alisson (Liverpool) Defenders: Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Maguire (Manchester United), Van Dijk (Liverpool), Robertson (Liverpool) Midfielders: Henderson (Liverpool), Fabinho (Liverpool), Wijnaldum (Liverpool) Forwards: Salah (Liverpool), Firmino (Liverpool), Mane (Liverpool) ‘There were rumours over the international break about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer losing his job if United lose. Does he deserve more time? Is he the man to oversee this rebuild? ‘Klopp certainly was at Anfield. Ketika Kegemilangan Daniel James Justru Mempertegas Masalah mu
Ketika Kegemilangan Daniel James Justru Mempertegas Masalah mu - Penampilan gemilang Daniel James sejauh ini justru diukur telah cukup menegaskan masalah besar yang menaungi Manchester United. Pemain baru seperti James wajib tak segera jadi pemain inti.
Kenapa demikian?
Masih Baru melainkan Terbaik
Penampilan apik James mencuri perhatian analis Premier League, Danny Mills.

Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills believes that Marcelo Bielsa will have a selection headache against Barnsley this weekend after several Whites players on the fringes impressed on international duty. The Argentinian may have made changes anyway, after his Leeds side lost 1-0 at home to Swansea City last time out. However, speaking to Football Insider, Mills stated that Bielsa will have been monitoring the progress of his players who have been away, with Eddie Nketiah, who shone for England’s U21 side, someone who could be handed a start. “I think Marcelo Bielsa will have some questions to answer when everyone comes back from the international break but that’s what you want, competition for places. Everybody wants to play, everybody wants to be in the first-team and that’s what raises the levels of everybody else’s play. There’s not an awful lot between them. “At the moment, Bamford’s got the jersey, if he continues to score and play well, he’ll keep it. When Nketiah gets his chance, he’s got to take it.” The Yorkshire outfit head to Oakwell on Sunday to take on local rivals Barnsley as they look to get back into the top two. The verdict You have to agree with Mills here and it will be very interesting to see the XI that the manager goes with against the Tykes. But, this is exactly the position he wants to be in as he has real strength in depth in certain areas and it’s down to the players to take any opportunities that come their way. It is worth noting that Bielsa has been loyal to his players in the past, so you would expect only a few tweaks at most, meaning Nketiah might have to be patient once again. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments below. #DannyMills #MarceloBielsa #LeedsUnited
Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills has predicted that Whites fans will boo Brentford defender Pontus Jansson “at every opportunity” when he returns to Elland Road this evening. Jansson left the Yorkshire club this summer to join Brentford, in a deal worth a reported £5.5 million. The Bees face a trip to top-of-the-table Leeds in the Championship this evening, in what looks set to be the 28-year-old’s first appearance at Elland Road since leaving the Whites. The Swedish international has been influential at Brentford already, wearing the captain’s armband in the first three league games of the season. Jansson was a key player for Leeds, making 120 appearances in his three seasons with the club, but, speaking to Football Insider, Mills suggested that he would not be well received by the Elland Road faithful. Pressed on how Whites supporters would respond to the Swede’s return, he said: “Badly. I think he’ll be booed at every opportunity. “It will be interesting to see what he does. He might come out and try to get the Leeds fans on side but they’ll not be having any of it. “It’s a big game against Brentford, obviously Jansson is a big part of that, whether he plays or not remains to be seen.” The Verdict It feels as if Mills is being slightly harsh on Jansson here, Marcelo Bielsa indicated the player deserves to be well-received and I tend to agree with him. The motivation behind the centre-back’s sale remains unclear, with some reports suggesting it was due to a fallout between player and manager, and others claiming it was financially driven, either way, it does not seem as if Jansson pushed to leave at any point. The Brentford captain will likely be looking to get one over on his former club but that will be a tough task given the way the two sides have started the season. The Bees have been inconsistent, winning just once in their first four games, while Leeds remain unbeaten and are first in the league. #LeedsUnited #DannyMills #EllandRoad
Danny Mills has claimed that Leeds United have made a big mistake by not tying Jack Clarke down to a long-term contract earlier this year. The 18-year-old is one the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur, after impressing for Leeds in the Championship last season. The winger scored two goals in 25 appearances for the Whites in all competitions in his breakthrough season for the first-team and was able to establish himself as one of the brightest young talents in Championship. Clarke is reportedly set to be announced as a Spurs player at the beginning of next week, in a deal worth up to £12million. The teenager has already agreed personal terms with Spurs and is set to sign a five-year contract worth £20,000-a-week. Clarke is set to leave Leeds after just one season at Elland Road and former Whites defender Mills believes that the club have made a mistake by not tying the winger down to a long-term contract, shortly after his emergence in the first-team. “Leeds should have bumped up Jack Clarke’s contract earlier this year,” Mills toldFootball Insider. “I’m pretty sure his first pro contract will have bonuses and trigger points in it, but once he established himself in the first-team, it’s something that should have got done. “Leeds would have protected their asset by tying him down to a new deal, and it was a big mistake not to do so. “If he had signed a new four or five-year contract earlier in the year, they would have been able to get a few more million out of Tottenham.” Clarke has two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road, which was the first professional contract he signed on his 17th birthday in November 2017. The Verdict I completely agree with Mills here. Clarke showed throughout his first season at Elland Road that he could have what it takes to become a top player and I’m sure Leeds would have anticipated that there would be serious interest in him this summer. If Leeds could have persuaded him to sign a new long-term deal, Spurs probably would have had to pay considerably more to get him. It’s not uncommon for top players to sign a contract extension months before leaving and clubs use it as a way of ensuring that they can get an increased fee for an in-demand player. I think Leeds have missed a trick here and have probably cost themselves a few million pounds by not tying Clarke down to a new deal. #DannyMills #JackClarke #LeedsUnited
