9. What song(s) describes their relationship with one another?

I am actually going to answer this with another post. I actually have a playlist in the works and I want to finish a cover for it! So, stay tuned for that!

4. How much did MC influence their growth?

Danielle and Barnaby were a major part of their kids lives. Because of their occupations, they weren’t too far from home, and they would let their children help out occasionally. Danielle’s experience with her missing brother especially lead her to spending as much time as she could with her family and tried very hard to foster a connection with each of them. She always wanted to make sure that if they were ever separated, they would always know of the love their family had for them.

5. How much did Jacob influence their growth?

Admittedly, not that much. He would occasionally visit with them, but the visits were short and would be few and far between. However, they heard of all of the stories with him and their mom with the Cursed Vaults, so they hold him with respect and intrigue. They usually bombard him with questions when Jacob does come around.

10. In which house were they sorted? How much do they fit the Sorting Hat choice?

Wolfgang and Dandelion are in Slytherin, while Malcom is in Ravenclaw. They definitely fit the characteristics of their houses. 

However, just like Barnaby, Wolfgang and Dandelion (and their older brother Silvanus) are very friendly and aren’t particularly malicious or intent on hurting others to reach their goal. They do go against the stereotype that others may have about the house.

20 & 21. List five things they like/dislike.

I have been seeing a lot of awesome artwork of everyone’s HPHM fankids, so I decided to draw some as well!

I can imagine Danielle and Barnaby wanting a larger family, so they ended up having five kids in total. Starting from left to right, there is Silvanus, Briar, the twins Wolfgang and Malcom, and Dandelion Lee.

4. How does your MC cope with everything they’ve endured with Jacob. R, and the vaults?

Danielle throughly believes in the healing power of music. She will either listen to, perform, or dance to music to help relieve her of the stress. it also helps to clear her mind and she can come up with creative solutions.

i2. How did you come up with your MC and Jacob’s Backstory (family, where they’re from, their relationship with each other, etc.)?

Part of it their backstory was already formed before I even started playing Hogwarts Mystery! Danielle was a character I created when I was forming a story about Ilvermorny. Her father was an American Wizard while her mom was a squib. The Slate family lived in Maine up until their father’s death. To include the HM element, I just made her mom British and had her family move back there to have them attend Hogwarts.

I was heavily inspired by the great Donald O’Conner in forming their father, Thomas Slate. He would perform in plays, musicals, and traveling bands. He was the triple threat; good actor, singer, and dancer. However, he was always still humble, good natured and kind to others. Their mother is actually influenced by Mary Poppins, who is rather serious and posh, but also has a fun and whimsical side to her when you least expect it. She also is a fantastic dancer, and that is how she met and fell in love with Thomas.

(I have been meaning to draw more of their backstory, so hopefully will compel me to complete some of them, hehe)

5. How does your Jacob cope with Duncan’s death?Slate will pretend that everything is normal and try to carry on as if nothing has happened. However, the built up stress will only continue to mount and manifest itself through nightmares or extreme sleeplessness. It’s only until he has a good cry and confronts those feelings honestly and openly will he finally find peace and closure.

8. Does your MC have any sentimental items?

She does indeed! Danielle cherishes her father’s old fiddle, which he gave to her shortly before he passed away. Thomas Slate was a very gifted musician and was essentially what inspired his daughter to love music. She took lessons and continues to play it to cheer herself up, especially if she is missing her family.

13. What is your Jacob’s favorite thing from Honeydukes?

You can’t beat the classic chocolate frogs! He’s an avid collector of the cards as well, being the massive nerd that he is. 

21. Something your MC and Jacob like to tease each other about and use to embarrass each other with?

Both of them are very prone to get deep crushes and act like idiots around them. Jacob will tease Danielle about her crush on Barnaby, especially since he is low-key convinced that the Slytherin was a Crup in another life. Danielle on the other hand, has found out a very juicy fact about her brother’s past crush and will constantly remind him of it whenever he gives her a hard time. Who was his crush?

14: What is your MC’s fashion style?Sweaters. Lots and lots of sweaters. They are usually really big and the sleeves a bit too long. She will often wear a skirt underneath, but may occasionally be in jeans or leggings if she feels like it!
