An autistic woman was shot by police this past Thursday. Approximately one year ago the world fell in love with an autistic woman named Danielle Jacobs. Her
Our first responders and other officials should be trained in how to communicate and deal with people who have issues like autism.

Police Kill Transgender Man With Asperger’s After Welfare Visit
Police in Mesa. Arizona have shot dead a young transgender man with Asperger’s Syndrome after making a welfare visit following calls of concern.
Kayden Clarke, 24, was born Danielle Jacobs but identified as a male.  Last year Clarke gained public attention after posting a video on Youtube about his dog.  Clarke showed that his Rottweiler named Samson, was of great help during a traumatic episode…

I’m in quite a few service dog groups on Facebook and the community is full of drama. They are also a harsh and judgmental bunch who often accuse people of “faking”, go on bulling rampages and in general show little mercy to anyone who happens to post something they dislike. They can of course be gracious and supportive but the mean parts of the service dog community appear too often for me to be comfortable posting most places. In the past few days an individual from that community was shot by police. I have been shocked by the response. There are people posting that they are glad this person was killed and that they obviously meant to commit suicide by cop when in reality the police do not believe that was their intent. Individuals are encouraging others in the service dog community to call the police department where the officer who shot this person is from and tell them their negative experiences with them. People claim the person drove other people to commit suicide and bullied and harassed countless others. The response to the death has by and large been met with relief, outright expressed happiness, anger at their  perceived “choice” in their death and a continued on-slot of stories about how horrible this person was.Â
I have no idea if the things that people are saying are true but I do not care. A person is dead and people are reacting from horrible places. People claim to be sorry for their family but if they were they would not continue telling stories about this person’s actions. They would let things rest and let go. And to be fair some people are doing that. To ask that someone be sad about a death is not fair - you can’t control emotions but asking for respect for someone who has died is not inappropriate or even a stretch. It is the right thing to do. Continuing to spread hate and bitterness about an individual who was killed in a horrific way is so very wrong. And so is blaming their death on their self. No one knows this person’s intent that day (and in fact the cop’s believe they did not intent to commit suicide by cop). It’s just time to let this person go and let them rest in peace. *I chose not to use gender specific pronouns in this (I’m sorry if I slipped up) because there are some accounts that the person was transgender. I don’t know either way but I don’t want to accidentally mislabel someone even after their death.Â
I went to Kayden Clark’s youtube channel, and it made me cry. Here’s someone who was failed so much by the system that killed him. And in his death the media continually misgenders him.Â
Here’s one report on his death that doesn’t misgender him

Transgender man Kayden Clarke shot and killed by police following suicide call, misgendered and deadnamed by the media.
In case people haven’t heard about this yet
RIP Danielle Jacobs :(
Why I say I hate the police
http://themighty.com/2016/02/woman-with-aspergers-wh0-made-viral-video-with-service-dog-shot-dead-by-police/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Autism_Page&utm_campaign=Autism A woman with autism (Danielle Jacobs) was just shot dead by the police. 24 years old. Cops were responding to a suicide threat. They saw that she had a knife in her hand, and shot her dead without hesitation. I hate police, because I know that this could've easily been me. In fact, for all we know, it could be me next. So when I say I'm afraid of cops, I have a legitimate reason. Far too many are bloodthirsty criminals who would fire 20+ rounds into me without any hesitation or remorse whatsoever. Be aware, everyone. Don't trust cops, or you could end up dead, just like Danielle. Sleep well, sweetheart. You deserved better. May the motherfuckers sent you to heaven rot in hell for eternity.
