“Does your house have a emeregcy alarm then?”

“Honey, half the time we don’t have batteries in our smoke alarms.”

“…That’s deeply concerning. I sleep here a lot.”

“You want us to sleep together, you have to risk that we might die together.”

“Regardless, is that the smoke alarm?”

“No, smoke alarm is more of a BEEP BEEEP BEEP. This is a WAAAAAA WAAAA WAAAA.”

“Insightful, darling.”

“You’re welcome, Honey.”

“Otto Family! Down in the basement!” Greg, Oliver’s Dad yelled from the stairwell,

“Ughhh… no…” Oliver groaned,

“What?”

“Got to go down to the shelter,” he complained as he climbed out of bed and shoved some shorts and a shirt on,

“Shelter! You don’t have smoke alarm batteries, but you have a bomb shelter?”

“It’s just the basement.”

“Why is your basement any form of survival shelter?”

“'Cause my dad watched that ‘How close we are to the end of the world’ documentary and got freaked out,” He sighed, “So he bought a bunch of supplies at Costco and turned the basement into a shelter.”

“So you need to go down and sit with your family till your dad calms down?”

“Pretty much,” He sighed, “You wanna wait up here for me?”

“No way! If the world is ending, I wanna be in the shelter with you!” she argued as she jumped out of bed and tossed her hoodie over her nightie,

“Awww I wanna be with you if the world ends too,” he cooed, pulling her in for a kiss,

Oliver and Y/n headed down through the dark house and down into the basement with the rest of the family, but almost immediately, things were awkward. Oliver and Y/n sat against the wall on the small bench, being glared at by Oliver’s mother, Katie. But they weren’t the only ones, as Oliver’s sister, Taylor and her boyfriend, Trip, were also being glared at intensely. Only Anna Kat escaped the glares.

“Greg? Why are there seven people in our basement?” Katie snapped,

“That is a fabulous question, Katie.” Greg glared, “I built a family shelter for my family of five. And yet there are seven people in it,”

“Are there ghosts in here?” Trip whispered,

“He’s talking about how you and Y/n are here.” Taylor sighed,

“And I was unaware they were!” Katie yelled,

“How do you keep sneaking them past us?” Greg asked,

“She walked in the door with me; you just didn’t check if she ever left.” Oliver shrugged,

“Great, gonna die with my kids, boyfriend and girlfriend.” Katie sighed,

“Do you want me to leave?” Y/n asked,

“No… she leaves, I leave.” Oliver snapped,

“No, I wouldn’t throw anyone out during the end of the world,” Greg reassured,
