Oliver turns around to face his mother, not removing his arms from his girlfriend. "W-what did I do this time?"

"Plead the fifth." Y/n whispered in his ear.

"I was… Doing your laundry." His mom began, obviously lying and had actually been snooping. "And I found this. Care to explain yourself!" She held up the sealed red foil square of an unopened condom.

Oliver's entire face flushed red out of embarrassment, and Y/n was unable to keep from bursting out into a little giggle as his mom held it up. He knew he had no excuse for it so instead changed lanes. "M-mom! You were looking through my stuff?!" he took the condom and placed it back inside the pocket of his pants.

"Not the point! My point is, what is it doing in your room?" she said, fully dropping the laundry lie.

Y/n bit her lip to keep from snickering.

"Well… um.. it's a condom." Oliver said bluntly,

“I know what it is, Oliver,” She snapped. "And what is it doing in your room?!"

He sighed. "It's just uh… in case?" He said, his cheeks turning even redder.

"How could you? Oliver, you were supposed to come to me when you were considering becoming sexually active so your father could discuss it with you. How long has this been going on!"

Oliver groaned, covering his face slightly. "That is so embarrassing, Mom. I'm not going to talk to Dad about my sex life."

"Why not? If you want to be treated like an adult, you need to be comfortable with adult conversations. Besides, we don't want you to be sexually active! Not in our house!"

"Mom… I don't actually need to get your approval for this stuff. I'm an adult."

"While you live in my house, it's my rules. I have lived these years unable to enjoy a sex life, You kids sure as hell don't get one till you move out."

Oliver rolled his eyes at that. He turned to Y/n and shook his head, almost as if he were saying, 'can you believe this?'

To which, of course, she giggled,

"You chose not to have a love life, that's on you. You can't force the same on me."

Y/n smiled, laying her head on his shoulder.

Oliver smiled at her and looked back to his mother. He gently wrapped his arms around Y/ns waist. "And I'm a responsible kid. I use protection. I don't see what the issue is."

"Have you actually done it?" His mom asked bluntly.

"You really want the honest answer to that?"

"Tell me." She asked, crossing her arms.

Y/n blushe,d burrowing close to Oliver's arm.

Oliver sighed in annoyance, "We've done… stuff." He said, not wanting to go into too much detail.

"But have you done it? It. The actual thing."

Oliver closed his eyes, and he nodded.

"Greg!" She yelled, summoning Oliver's father,

"Your son, has been sexually active and has fully done… It. With his girlfriend."

"You -what! Oliver!" His dad yelled,

Oliver cringed. "Dad, listen. not a little kid. I'm an adult, and I shouldn't be under arrest for having a sex life."

He said, sounding more angry and frustrated now than when this had first begun. “Do you have full consent?”

“Co- I- Yes! Of course I do!”

“And your checking consistently.”

“Yes!”

"Are you using protection?"

Oliver let out yet another groan. "Yes, of course I am."

"… Then why are we angry?" Greg asked Katie,

"Because they shouldn't be doing it in our house!" she yelled,

"… Would you prefer them doing it in our car …because his sheets are far easier to clean than the backseat."

"Seriously, mom? Would you rather I be sneaking around? Cause that's the alternative here."

"Fine. You're grounded for a week. No house sex. You wash your own sheets from now on. And empty your own trash can," his mother snapped, "and no dinner for you." She told Greg before she marched off,

Oliver slumped against the couch, letting his head drop back in defeat.

"Could have been worse." Y/n smiled,

Oliver laughed with a little grin. He pulled her close to him, so her head was resting on his chest. "Yeah… it could have been,” He agreed, stroking her hair gently. “At least they didn’t take the most important thing away.”
