I’ve had a goal for a long time to do something for AAAS’s “Dance your PhD” contest. This is my first step towards a “Dance your Postdoc” piece, which is to say, it’s my background section, and a silks act that I’m rather proud of, performed live this past December as part of Sweet Spot Aerial Productions’ A Circus Carol (less than a week after I got reviewers’ comments back on my paper). Thanks to the director, producer, and all my friends, who said “Wait, you want to do what? Are you sure you want to do that? For this show?” and supported me anyway.

Oy, archaeology PhD candidates, I see a unique opportunity in your future . . .(dance your dissertation!).
