In genius casting news: the producers of the upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast film have tapped Downtown Abbey alum Dan Stevens to play the Beast to Emma Watson’s Belle. Earlier today, Watson tweeted, "Could not be more happy that this man will be Beast!!! Welcome aboard @thatdanstevens #beautyandthebeast" Honestly, it's a bit jarring to hear Stevens called a beast without putting "sexy" in front of it, but we'll go with it. You can bet that a live action version of this childhood classic will drip with opulence: it takes place in a freaking prince's castle with talking gold flatware! And if the grandiosity of Disney's upcoming Cinderella is any indication, you can expect plenty of stunning wardrobe choices set against the royal background—and we think we can help.
